Someone here posted a couple of weeks ago that Kelly and staff were still recruiting him hard. If true, then de-committing is a major emotional step for him to make. Way more than taking some visits.

I don't think the staff was totally unprepared for this. If they were in contact with him, there had to be some smoke.

Hopefully we can get him back but the circumstances, especially this late in the game, sure seem like an awfully big hurdle.

This blows.

Not sure this is what Darby was doing but my initial reaction was the same as yours.

ND should change their policy... we will a scholarship even if you get injured during your senior year BUT we don't consider you as being committed if you continue visiting anther schools.

The last people I would expect to be suprised by this is the staff...

also the last people I'd expect to give up on him...

eh, like i said weeks ago... every year ND loses some stud... every single year.

Everyone loved him when he was Irish. Now it seems some are speculating as to how and why this happened, and with negative comments. Don't get me wrong, I want him Irish. But if he decides different, then thats his decission. Some of the comments/speculations being made are stupid at best.

I don't think Darby would decommit only to recommit in a few weeks. He has been taking officials for a while...this isn't a short sighted decommit.

He is a play maker but if we go from being #1 in his book to not being ocnsidered he wasn't a ND guy.

I'm not seeing too many negative comments really, especially towards Darby. I think the last few pages of this thread have mostly shown how much Darby meant to this ND class.

horrible news to say the least...sure the staff will come after him hard, but like said above it's seems like something that has been brewing for quite awhile and idk if we'll be able to hold on when it's all said and done.

just as long as we have a chance...that'll keep me from jumping the next few weeks.

yea so the dead period is 9-12, so there is no staff trip. him doing this right now seems almost planned by ________. So unless the staff is already airborn $*&#%($@*($^&*()%^)(*$*(^@)(%^*
