If the series ends abruptly, the "UM pussed out" defense isn't going to hold much sting for them.

True dat.

We're such pussies that we're opening with Alabama next year at Jerryworld in Dallas.

And in 2014, we've got Appalachian State again. Yikes!

You just kinda made the point for everyone saying you're pussing out. ND will got play Texas, USC, Stanford, Michigan, etc. all in the same year. UM doesn't even want to deal with playing Alabama and ND close together on the schedule... especially if it means they won't get 8 home games.

I don't blame Michigan and wish ND did the same thing. There is no reason to play a schedule that is harder than it needs to be.

Funny, I was talking with my Step Father the other day and he mentioned that ND was bascially told by the BCS to "join or die" after next year......

I love our independence...but if I absolutely had to pick...it would be the Big10

That's not even close to true. The bowls that make up the BCS would LOVE for ND to be in their games. The more likely scenario is that the Big East is going to lose its auto-bid making room for 1 more deserving at large team.

I don't know what will happen with ND-Michigan in the coming years...but I do know that I like seeing the term "puss out" getting play on this thread! "Pussies" too! It's like I've been watching Touched by an Angel on CBS, then BAM-- I'm onto Sons of Anarchy on FX!

I hope we don't drop you, but if we go to a nine game conf schedule I understand the math behind the decision since football pays for most of the other sports that Michigan offers.

You were touched by an Angel? was his name Jerry Sandusky by any chance?

Or maybe it should be I didn't know Jerry Sandusky had his own show

In light of most of this years BCS games not selling out, I laugh at this. If ND was in the top14 they would have been picked over UM, book that.

Happy to hear this about the series maybe ending. Even though we use non big ten refs now the past screw jobs bother me. Notre Dame can survive without Mich. Stay independent and if you have to join a conference let be another one that would be a better fit. I see this as a positive and maybe direction to another conference. Try to keep Purdue/Sparty and let these guys go pound salt.

Just wondering if any of that was true...but if rivals keep dropping off the board, we may have to join a conference. You don't think so? We'll still be ND and still fill the seats...that won't change.

Again, I love our independence and I think that's what makes us who we are. But I'm not totally closed minded to the idea of joining a conference. I mean, you can only hold out on your own little island for so long before you need to call for help.

We'll end up being forced into it. And again, If I had to pick, I'd pick the big10.

Big Ten, Pac-12 extend their partnership – USATODAY.com

Looks like the news is B1G v Pac12 match ups. Pretty sweet IMO.

If the B10 teams each pick up one Pac12 team and also pick up another conference game as is planned to start in 2015, that will leave two noncon games for each B10 team to schedule. Since home games will be at a premium, they would want to schedule cupcakes that won't ask for a home/away series. That means ND would be dropped by Michigan, Michigan State, and Purdue. And the Pac12 is likely to follow suit, so there is the risk of ND losing USC and Stanford as well.

ND will be frozen out, and it may be too late already to join one of the major conferences so they may be relegated to the Big East or ACC. OTOH, it might be better to be a big frog in a small pond.

HUH??? First of all, the USC game is never going away. Second, we prefer the ACC as a fit right now to the Big Ten. Yes, we're likely to lose some games against Big Ten opponents (namely Michigan) in thethe long run but we just signed a deal with northwestern and it's not like we're being "frozen out". Who gives a crap if we play Purdue? Is that team supposed to "legitimize" our schedule? LOL.

Plus we have games against miami, texas, oklahoma, etc. on a the docket....

We then have the right to load up on cup cakes year in and year out and this BIG jerkoffs can't whine and moan about our "soft" schedule. 10-2 == BCS == we win.

I would not be calling Michigan "Pussies" since they have beaten us 3 years in a row. So to call them that is just ridiculous.

Man reading the crap on Mgoblog about those idiots talking about ND "Hubris and better than thou" attitudes make me laugh. Do they not understand that they have as much power over us, as we them? We don't need them. Frankly all this does is gives us an easy ride to the BCS.

dang...hate to hear the series may end...I'm not a big fan of UM fans. A lot of my buddies are UM fans I'm sure they'll find a way to blame us for this.

I wish we could have 8 home games every year like scUM does. Heck I wonder when scUM is gonna have 11 home games a year. It's only a matter of time before they get their way. I hate them so much it aint even right.

I would think having Michigan off your schedule is a good thing for ND considering your only win in recent years came against ]V['s worst team maybe ever.

Ummmmm. I agree with you. It would be a GREAT thing to have them off our schedule. I personally don't like losing every year to you guys that's for sure. I could really care less about the rivalry anyway.

Good lord, where do all these scUMbags come from? Are there this many ND fans that interject themselves into conversations on michigan boards? Also, speaking of hubris, it's amazing how much confidence three wins by a total of 12 points gives a team. I have no problem not playing them again, mostly because they have some of the worst fans in the country.

Looks most likely like the series will end given that Dave Brandon publicly said that he wants more home games.

I might go to the last game in 2016 in south bend.

Our rivalry's past is full of a lot of controversial stuff. Read the book "Natural Enemies". It's all about the history of Michigan-ND. Great read. This would be the third time that the Michigan athletic department gives ND the finger.

That is 10000000000000% accurate. Michigan has THE worst fans ever and that stadium is just one gigantic toilet bowl anyway. Plus, Ann Arbor is a whorebag.
