Sounds like they will all be in-house:

Meanwhile, Notre Dame's new coaching staff will look very much like its old staff. Kelly indicated that the announcement of how he'll reshuffle duties is imminent, with offensive coordinator Charley Molnar taking the reins as Massachusetts coach earlier this month.

"We're very excited that we're going to be able to keep our staff in place," Kelly said. "We're going to be able to announce those things. I can tell you this: They're already guys that have been on Notre Dame's campus. That's the exciting part. We're going to have continuity within our staff and maintain that this year."

Kelly has said he'd prefer to keep hires in-house and speculation indicated that would be the case. Offensive intern Scott Booker -- previously a full-time assistant at Western Kentucky and Kent State -- could be elevated to an assistant gig with the Irish.

And if Booker coaches defensive backs, as he did at the previous stops, that could open the door for Chuck Martin to slide into the offensive coordinator role after coaching defensive backs for the previous two seasons.

On the other note, Floyd was made a captain for the Bowl game!?! Very cool of Kelly to let him be the captain for this game...I think Michael has earned it.

I always like seeing young guys get their shot to coach. Who knows where this guy will be in 10 years time. We may see him at a coordinator position. Who knows!?

No offense to Molnar, but I am excited to have a new OC step in. I felt that the play calling was very bland/predictable at times last year.

In regards to who takes his place, I thought Warinner was the main candidate, not C. Martin. I was pretty excited with given what he did at Kansas. I guess with what Martin did at Grand Valley States offense, I wont be upset either way.

This is interesting to me. On one hand, I love coaching continuity. On another hand, it's often hard for a "newbie" or young coach to sell in recruiting or bring much to the table.

I'm pretty sure Kelly calls all the plays. I think the OC usually just alerts Kelly re: defensive tendencies, formations, etc.

I know Martin's coached forever but it's not like he did the greastest job with db's this year. While I do think he can coach wasnt like he was star postion coach by a long shot. I know he can handle postion though.

Per TJ34 on II regarding Booker:

Very possible. BK will handle any announcement next Wednesday, as he stated.

For the record, Booker played and coached DB at Kent State and Western Kentucky prior to being recruited to ND as an Offensive GA in order to better help Coach Alford instruct the WRs on DB techniques employed and DB coverage schemes generally given his defensive background, both at CB and S. Coach Alford has high praise for Booker, as do other coaches on staff who have watched his work and diligence. That includes BK.

Maybe as importantly, the players -- particularly the WRs and DBs who've experienced his work and personality most -- have great respect for Booker as a de facto coach. He has the personality, character, enthusiasm/energy and style to be very successful on the recruiting trail in key areas he would handle. Assuming he lands the CBs coaching position (Coach Cooks would slide to Safeties IF Coach Martin goes over to Offense/OC), or even if he became the WRs coach IF that became an option (Coach Alford is not leaving!).

interesting and promising... a young enthusiastic assistant coach can do fine in the family living room if he has the right engaging personality.

So Tim Hinton is staying then? If the "staff is staying together" does one assume no changes from here?
