Safe to say 1000% of you think that was a pretty idiotic comment, so it was deleted and all comments following it b/c we're getting away from Fuller.

I always miss all of the fun.

Devin is a game changer and we need the type of athleticism that he brings to the table.

New to the forum..Born and raised a ND fan but ended up at TCU due to proximity from home. Kept up with Fuller's recruitment due to the fact that he is fairly high on TCU and would be probably the biggest recruit in TCU history if he ended up in Fort Worth. Rumor on campus (this was before ND debated giving him a shot at QB) was that it was between Rutgers (what a joke) and TCU based on the fact that we were the only schools willing to give him a shot at QB, and family ties. Now rumors in these parts are that is it 50/50 between TCU and ND. Also heard that he mentioned to coaches during official visit to campus that he wouldn't be against playing safety as long as he was given sufficient opportunity to prove himself at QB first. Not really anything you guys don't already know, just thought I would relay the gossip from Fort Worth.

Being the dynamic player that he is, the TCU coaches have discussed using him as an Owen Marecic type of player if he was to choose Fort Worth as his future home. Maybe emphasize the offensive side of the ball more (if he wasn't going to play QB) and use him in nickel situations on defense. Drastically increases chance of injury in my opinion but I have confidence in both coaching staffs, TCU and ND, to get this guy on the field where he needs to be.

I finally got around to seeing his video...and was fully impressed. I have not been able to follow the thread very well as I am out of the country. Is Fuller ND if GK decides that he wants to go elsewhere?

He reminds me of a Cam Newton (minus the potential NCAA violations)/Denard Robinson type...if that makes any sense. The short ball with accuracy would be my potential question on him. But escapability, athleticism, all of it is there. With the right development, he could be a very special player.

Dear lord this kid is fast...smooth, and can throw on the run. Very surprised he is not ranked higher or recruited by more BCS schools.

He is very raw... some schools shy away from experiments. We need athletes. Sit him a year give him a shot to play QB if not you have a stud DB.

Yeah, I think he has had heavy interest from just about everywhere. But he isn't a fit for a lot of offenses as a QB and that's why his list is the way it is.

Recruiting Week In Review

Devin Fuller, ATH, 6-0, 180, Old Tappan High School, Old Tappan, NJ originally dropped Notre Dame from consideration because of the Irish’s insistence that he play defensive back. However, with the exit of offensive coordinator Charley Molnar to become head coach at the University of Massachusetts, the Irish staff has re-evaluated Fuller and now has made it clear to the talented New Jersey athlete that they would consider him as a quarterback prospect.

“It all comes down to what they’re considering him as,” said Fuller’s father Bart. “When Molnar came out early, early on it was ‘defense, defense.’ That’s what kind of turned Devin off. When Coach (Bob) Diaco came the last couple of weeks, he’s more staying in line with quarterback and when Devin hears that it piques his interest. It’s just a matter of are they for real about that and if they are, gauging on what conversations we’ve had, potentially they’re back in the mix.”

Because of the recruiting dead period, the Fullers are taking a wait-and-see attitude with Notre Dame.

“He’s got three visits left and we’re trying to figure out what three schools are going to get those visits and Notre Dame may be in the mix,” said the elder Fuller.

Rutgers will certainly get one of the visits and when asked what schools were most likely to get the remaining two visits, Bart Fuller responded, “I’d say Notre Dame, Arizona and UCLA.”

The Fullers are very concerned about the educational aspect of Devin’s final destination and this gives the Irish a major chip in the game.

“They’re top five in terms of academics and athletics combination, at least on the football field,” explained Mr. Fuller. “Walking away with a degree from Notre Dame is highly respected.”

While playing quarterback, Fuller led his high school team to the state title game, amassing 2247 yards passing and 1326 yards rushing in the process. He accounted for 37 total touchdowns, 20 passing and 17 rushing.

He's the greatest quarterback we could ever recruit unless he commits elsewhere.

Then, he's a slower Denard Robinson with a weaker arm who won't ever win anywhere.

Agreed... this guy is a better athlete and gives us more of a dual threat.
