Hearing from the staff at ND, as well as Alabama, Boston College, Iowa and Wisconsin. His take on ND and recruiting priorites:

“Notre Dame has a great football program and their coaching staff is friendly,” Westerkamp said. “I’m going to be visiting there in a couple of weeks and will get to meet the coaches a little better, but I like the atmosphere. Obviously it’s Notre Dame and it’s exciting to hear from them. I would really like the chance to play football there and it’s one of my favorites.”

Westerkamp has already set his priorities for what he’s looking for when he makes his college decision.

“Coaching is probably the biggest thing,” he related. “I’m going to be looking for a friendly coaching staff and a place where I fit in well. I want a passing style offense because I’m a receiver and like to make plays, but I will block also. When I get ready to make a decision, I’m going to know which is the best place that’s going to fit me.”

I'm not sure how similar the competition they face is or if this kid is as much of a tool as Dieter though... Which is one of the reasons I'm assuming the staff didn't offer him.

Kelly's not the only one. westerkamp has a much better offer list than Dieter. I also agree that his attitude plays a part in it.

Well I tried to go to Husker site and get info on the kid from there point of view and bam !!!! 35 page thread (Pinned) How much "Notre Dame sucks". BigHuskerfan.com lol. Didn't know the huskers disliked us so much.

In regards to the kid he looks good and if the staff wants him then that's cool.

I think he looks a little faster than Gehrig. He looks tough to bring down in the open field too.

My favorite part of the highlight was that the qb was throwing fades to him in obvious double coverage

Will be visiting this weekend. Supposedly only got offered last week... I don't know why, but I was under the impression he was offered awhile ago, so if others had the same misconception I did I thought I would clear it up.
