Michigan is baller status in this recruiting cycle.
not enough space or just think he'll go to colorado?
williams is visiting ohio st this weekend.
No, I don't think he likes Michigan nearly as much as people think he does. I think Rutgers, Colorado and Georgia are all ahead of Michigan right now and IF he visits ND we might even jump to that top group. Michigan has an OV scheduled (tentatively) for Jan. 13th which could give them a big boost and actually land them the commitment... but right now, anyone who thinks Michigan "leads" is full of it. They're in the race, no one leads here.
I think he'll follow Armani to Michigan IF they have room for another LB. Which they may not.

players and ND has 3 guys rated as high or higher than their most highly rated recruit.... in a class half the size) but they're getting there quickly. Darboh was another quality pickup and Reeves is a darn good athlete. Still not there yet (no 5players and ND has 3 guys rated as high or higher than their most highly rated recruit.... in a class half the size) but they're getting there quickly. Darboh was another quality pickup and Reeves is a darn good athlete.
If they land any offensive studs it'll take their class from impressive to "wow."

Their class is going to be outstanding. It already has a solid base and they lead or are in great position for a couple more studs.
Like who.
Yuri, Dunn, probably one or two I can't think of off the top of my head. Just wait and see.
First let me start by saying that Kalis is a 5*, top 25 player according to Rivals, so yes they do have a 5*.
Then they also have as good a shot as anybody else at the following guys who we would all be going wild over if ND had a real good chance with them.
Yuri, Dunn, Reeves, Garnett, Payton, Camren Williams.
Maybe Banner too.
Magnuson and Pipkins are big time recruits. Anybody trying to downplay the quality and star power of UMs current class, and what is will most likely look like when they are finished is fooling themselves.

First let me start by saying that Rivals is a joke. Anyone that defends that site's methodology or common sense over the last 2 years immediately loses credibility with me. They're no better than ESPN now. Second, before Kalis committed anywhere, Coach D on ISD said he was extremely overrated (so make that x10 for Rivals) and gave some very good rationale for it + an extremely detailed evaluation.
Well that was kinda my point in saying that they're heading towards a class that would go from impressive to "wow"... so I'm not even sure what the debate here is. My whole point is that their current class is strong because of the quantity of "very good" players; not an abundance of game changers. Hell, even ESPN did an analysis of their class on TV where they graded certain areas and Michigan got all A's except for the category that was like "impact players" or "studs" or some category like that where they got a C and the analysts said the one thing this class lacks is some truly elite players.
Now on to the guys you listed...
Yuri = No. See above posts. They could land him but don't lead.
Dunn = No. If Meyer wants him he stays OSU.
Reeves = Yes. See above. Great player.
Garnett = 50/50. Another great player.
Payton = No. Trails both ND and Cal at this point.
Camren Williams = Maybe. I think he goes to Michigan IF they have room.
LOL. No, a better person to list would be Jordan Diamond here. Either way they aren't taking more than one more OL so it's a moot point if you say "yes" to Garnett. At least you didn't list Stefon Diggs....
Magnuson is ranked the equivalent of a, say, Jordan Prestwood. How is that elite? Pipkins I really like. I also LOVE James Ross... think he is going to be a baller. Completely underrated LB if you ask me.
So yeah... what this all boils down to is their class is exactly what I'm saying it is. And could finish up spectacular. But it isn't there yet and on many, many levels it is no sure thing that it will get there. They don't lead for a single guy you listed except potentially Reeves (who isn't a done deal) and Garnett (who REALLY isn't a done deal).
Also back on top ot Standifer, I wonder if we try and get back into it with him as a replacement for Rios on our recruiting board since it looks like Rios to ND is a nogo unless he decides not to EE. I think if we did, Standifer would be more a plan C or D option at this point, but Im not on staff so what do I know.
Anthony Standifer, CB, 6-1, 180, Crete-Monee High School, Crete, IL was originally slated to take an unofficial visit to Notre Dame last summer but that visit never happened. He visited Ann Arbor the day before and committed to the Wolverines during that visit. Standifer has recently decommitted from Michigan and is no longer considering them. He is currently reviewing his options and Notre Dame is in the mix.
“I just wanted to make a better decision,” explained Standifer. “I’ve been talking to Illinois, Wisconsin, Syracuse, Minnesota and Boise State. I think schools have been waiting for my senior tape and I just finished that, but clips were missing. I still have it on YouTube, but there will be another one.”
After his commitment to Michigan, Notre Dame lost contact with the talented Illinois defensive back but since he’s re-opened his recruitment, the Irish have once again expressed an interest.
“They talked to my head coach, but they said they couldn’t do anything until January,” Standifer explained. “I don’t know the full details; my coach just told me they’d be back in January.”
Notre Dame hopes to be able to get back in the mix with Standifer and entice him into an official visit.
“I have interest in Notre Dame,” he said. “I had a lot of interest in them when I was first getting recruited. The academic standpoint, it’s a really good academic school. They’ve got one of the best coaches in the nation and their recruiting classes have been great the last couple of years.”
Standifer hopes to be able to finalize his official visit schedule after he returns from the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl in Phoenix on January 3rd.
Yuri Wright...
don't see how he could get an offer if UM dropped him for grades.
I don't get it
Yuri Wright's status, in addition to academic issues, could/will keep him from getting an offer at this point. Just my opinion, but I'd imagine Wright is higher on the DB board than Standifer.
So I'm hearing now that it wasn't actually grades.... that Michigan just pushed him out to open up a scholly... namely because they think they can close on Yuri Wright. Go figure.
