One could easily point to last year as an example of finishing strong, but there's just something about the remaining targets that doesn't have me holding my breath. There are a few that I'm being cautiously optimistic about, but the majority of the remaining targets just don't seem to be favoring ND. It's just my gut feeling w/ this year's remaining targets. I feel like ND will finish right behind whatever school they pick. This staff has proven me wrong many times in their short tenure. I hope it continues. I've just been let down too many times over the years when getting my hopes up about recruits. Some kids will choose ND, others will not. It's just hard to follow recruiting year around and not be let down when your favorite target or top target, etc don't choose your school.
Note: When I say "favoring," I'm referring to ND being a leader. For example, K. Marshall strongly considered ND, but it was widely accepted and known that he was favoring GA all along. At this point in the game a lot can happen and it's great to be in solid position w/ recruits (top 5, top 3, OVs schedule, etc), but how many of them can you honestly suggest have ND out in front? I can't think of any besides possibly Kiel. Which is why I choose to be cautiously optimistic about recruiting anymore.
