Per BK.

Says he is gonna have to re-recruit them to stay.

Decision has to come by mid January.

BK also said that if Teo just wanted to go pro he would have went somewhere else.

Is this just filing paperwork for an underclassman evaluation, or actually filing for the draft itself, because I believe that is two completely different things. Pretty much all good underclassmen ask for evaluations regardless of intention.

When can we expect their results to come in and for them to make a decision?

It's the first one...for now.

I see both coming back.

This is just asking for an evaluation. Like you said most talented Juniors do this to get a feel of where they may be selected in the draft.

Standard practice for elite underclassmen such as these two.
I also see them both coming back.

Have not paid attention to any Mocks with regard to Eifert. But Te'o seems to be coming off the board somewhere between #12 and #20 on most Mocks I have seen. If you know you will be a 1st round pick, kinda hard to stick around school and risk an injury. Of course, does not apply if you come from money like Andrew Luck. I have no idea about the Te'o family financial situation. But if they need help, you have to believe that will play into his decision. He'll do what is best for him, and I'll respect that decision.

I see Te'o leaving, he is a first round draft pick and is in a position where he could get hurt. Eifert is the #3 TE and is projected in rounds 3-4 so I think he stays.

This means nothing, we knew this was going to happen. It just will allow them to figure out where they will likely be drafted.

It's just for an evaluation. SOP.

I am sure most are aware that this "means nothing," but some people made a big deal about Barkley doing the same thing.

Tyler really saved so many games this yr love the guys playing... Glad i met and saw Teo play three times... hopefully 4 next yrs game at Oklahoma..

Again you guys know i'm all Irish just get pissed when things like this happen...

I prefer it much more when you act like a Kool-Aid sipper as opposed to a pessimist. That's all I'm saying.

I really think (hope) Eifert and Te'o are both back next year.

Floyd did this last year and got a third round grade.

Eifert will see his mid round grade and come back. Te'o...I have no idea.

Te'o stock is going to fall. Pass coverage from a linebacker is very important in today's NFL, and right now, he could use some improvement in that area. However, thats a poor reason to stay cause any NFL LB coach can improve that. Id say its a 50% chance that atleast one of them stays.

Te'o should leave if he gets a first-round grade.

+1. Its selfish to want him back if he can be a top 15 pick.

In reality, T'eo being a high pick would help the program far more than coming back for one more season, in a year when the team isn't quite ready to run with the big dogs anyway. It would show ND is capable of sending elite 1st round talent to the draft, and help with future LB prospects.

I hate to be stereotypical, but I lived in Hawaii for a couple of years. Hawaiian Somoans are VERY deeply religious, and are serious about education. Teo still has a mission to do, and I'm betting that his family will still expect him to go on one. I'm not saying that he will pass up the NFL to do a mission, but I am saying that I think it will look really bad, to his family, if he leaves school early (AND having not done a mission) to go to the NFL.

A mod should change the title of this thread...to something "Eifert and Te'o file for NFL underclassman evaluation"
