NDinLA is far closer to USC's program than anyone else on this board, and he hasn't heard peep about Deontay through their channels. I'll take his word over some idiot Trogan poster on II.

The main reason I posted that was to show I did see it some where. To the content of what was said I don't know. It doesn't look great all around. With his statement to espn blogger that sounded to me that he is looking around.
This does not make me feel to much comfort he is "solid".

“Yeah I’m going, I’m looking forward to it,” Greenberry said. “USC has been recruiting me for a while and they have a great program. They’re recruiting me for safety and receiver but more so receiver right now. I’m still committed to Notre Dame but I want to do these visits so I have something to compare it with. I like ASU too but the staff is gone so I’m not sure what’s going on there."

You guys might want to stop following recruiting if you're going to sh*t yourselves everytime one of our recruits takes an official.

No thanks, thank you for your well thought out concern for my underwear though it truly warms my heart in this most festive time of the year.:)

This is what we get for becoming emotionally invested in the decisions of 18 year old kids.

I'd quit (following to the extent I do now) if I could...but sometimes I think I get off on the pain and turmoil of it all. It makes a great Signing Day that much sweeter.

We reap what we sow.

10-2= Firm, solid commits ready to join a program back on the upswing

8-4= Uncertainty how high the true ceiling is for the program

*I understand records aren't the end-all common denominator on who goes where, but IMO everyone's in the bag if we win 10. Hindsight is 20/20, and I digress....Here's to hoping the "Big 3" stay the course.

Yup. The thing is, we can totally suck on the field next year and it won't matter AS LONG AS this recruiting class is awesome. We've got enough talent between last class and how this incoming class should end up that if we totally whiff next year we'll still be set for the future.

But we simply have to keep this current class together... no matter what it takes. We cannot miss on WRs or DBs we have committed right now. You would have to be crazy, as a WR, to go to USC where so much 5:s: talent has repeatedly failed to "make it" and with the amount of entrenched young starters they have. Greenberry will CLEARLY get moved to safety if he signs up at USC.

I think he stays Irish because I think our staff is going to get down to business come Monday and make Deontay know how much we need him. He could seriously be a Day 1 player at ND and the next Michael Floyd if he works hard.

USC 247 guy told SC fans not to expect to much from his OV. Also said SC is pretty set at WR.

The thought is that they are trying to get as many kids to visit before NSD so that the odds of some of them committing go up.

Btw it really kills the SC fans on that board the Tee is so in love with ND. Brings a smile to my face.

i was reading on a USC board and they don't seem so optomistic about their WR position...they had a breakdown of it but they figured woods will be playing his last year next year, leaving Lee and depending on if they move farmer back to wr..i will look for the breakdown if u want

1. Farmer is a mega-recruit who WILL be put back at WR and be there the next 3 years.
2. Prater is a 5:s: guy with 3 years left.
3. They have Victor Blackwell with 4 years of eligibility left.
4. Marquis Lee has 3 years left.
5. They have a bunch of other 4:s:/5:s: guys with a couple of years left.
6. They have Darreus Rogers and Jaydon Mickens already committed in this class.

The bottom line is there are no opportunities to play right away. Next year they have Woods and Lee back. The year after that they could have Woods and Lee back again but will for sure have Lee. So then in 3 years, when Deontay is a junior, there might be an open spot for him to compete for... but then he will have to go against a bunch of guys already there as well as whatever guys they bring in the classes behind him... which might be the next Robert Woods and Marquis Lee.

I think Tee going to ND and the opportunity to come in and play immediately are going to win out here.

NCAA should do something (what little they can do) to crack down on fan interaction with recruits on social networking sites.

And hells yeah, Tay B.

Nice breakdown, thanks for sharing. When you also sit back and look at the offense USC runs it's more of a traditional 2 back, 1 TE and 2 WR Offense. I know they mix it up occasionally but I'd bet they play only 2 WR more than 60% of the time. The opportunities to see the field at ND should come quicker, IMO.

I hope he stays, nothing like plucking talent out of USC's backyard......I sincerely hate USC and everything about their football program.

Well, sadly, I come bearing bad news. But consider the source before you flip out.

According to The Peristyle (USC's Rivals premium site), they have a source that says Greenberry did in fact visit last weekend and will visit again this weekend (officially). Their source (who they say is close to Greenberry) also says that he has all but decommitted from ND as he wants to stay closer to home and can't picture himself living in SB for 4 years. They claim that USC is in a great position to land him, as long as there is a scholarship available.

Sorry guys. Again, consider the source. I definitely think he's having 2nd thoughts. I'm not worried about it personally b/c why get an ulcer over the whims of an 18 year-old, but that's just me. I'll worry if he officially decommits, but we still have his cousin in the fold, so there is still much hope.

On a brighter note, the same source said that Tee is scheduled to OV to USC with his cousin, but they expect him to cancel (which I believe he already has) and that Tee is all set to come to ND.

This certainly scares me... but it just doesnt add up seeing as he posted "aha you people crack me up...gone look stupid feb 2." in the facebook group in response to people questioning his commitment to ND.
