It is that time of year, and things on this board seem to be getting a little heated so I thought it would be a good idea to get a thread going on what everyone on here is thankful for in there lives.

I'm thankful for having an extremely blessed life, great friends and family, and an extended weekend home and away from school (even though I will spend most of that time prepping for finals). I am also thankful for our military men and women who protect our freedoms and keep us safe. Also I would be EXTREMELY thankful for a win over Stanford this weekend! :)

So I ask, what are YOU thankful for this Thanksgiving?

My awesome wife.

My healthy baby, Alyssa Rae:

Also, the rest of my family, my friends, my job, enough of everything to survive, and the men and women who are keeping this country safe from cowards/terrorists.

And of course, Tommy Rees!!!! Just kidding...sort of. Thankful for the people on this site that can argue with me and see past my stubborness and idiocy and still be cool afterwards. Peace...

Last night was cold. Right before I fell asleep, I was lying in bed with my beautiful wife sound asleep next to me, covered in what seems to be a two foot layer of soft down, I could faintly hear the sound of my dogs tail wagging somewhere under all the fluff and I thought of this thread.

I thank God for good health. (And the fact that I've been to South Bend Indiana and seen the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame play football)

I'm thankful for a lot of things really. My beautiful wife, my two incredible children, my family and friends, and life being such a miracle and blessing. Life really is the grandest thing to experience.

I'm also very thankful for little things like chromosomes 1P and 19Q, which make me much more susceptible to chemotherapy than people whom do not possess these traits, as getting diagnosed at 30 with a brain tumor is the scariest thing you can possibly imagine. I'm thankful for how well I do in my treatment, which is a testament to the strength blessed upon me by God, and that I cherish every single day.

I am thankful for every kindness, opportunity, good fortune and blessing that comes my way each and every day. Much love.

Oh, and for having the opportunity to visit Notre Dame...watch them lose to Navy in 2009 (no matter)...and experience the game day atmosphere. Still, one of the coolest things EVER in my life (I even got to tie a grey ribbon, the color for brain cancer, on their cancer prayer tree). Very nice. (Believe me, after watching Notre Dame football for so many years on TV it's absolutely surreal to be standing next to the pool in front of the Hesburgh library).

Family and Friends. The men and women of the military and their sacrifice for our freedom. The IE board (especially our recruiting experts). And most importantly that my fine was paid...
2 Cor 5:20-21 "...We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

I'm thankful for the commonwealth of Kentucky and its smoked hams and whiskey. I'm thankful for all the young Americans who serve in our military. I'm thankful for the sky and iced tea on hot days and well-written novels. I'm thankful for Italian restaurants like Sunny Italy in South Bend. I'm thankful for California because without it I'd be standing in the Pacific Ocean. I'm thankful for 2005 because without it the White Sox never would've won a World Series in my lifetime. I'm thankful for Brian Kelly because he will bring Notre Dame football back to greatness.
