Followed by a Georgia win in the SEC Championship game? Would that send Arky to the National Championship Game?

That would just be crazy i just don't see them keeping up with LSU.. LSU has a power run game and Jefferson.. If Arkansas had a run game it would help them. LSU will just shut down the WRs and they have nothing left..

I hope this happens. Arkansas has an explosive offense. Very possible

I love this. This is why we don't need a playoff. The regular season means so much. Win all your games, and minus a couple of times you will be in the National Championship Game. Lose a game and too bad your fate is in the pollsters. Should be another great week of football next week too!

Will they do Gameday for a Friday game? The game is scheduled for 2:30 kickoff on Friday on CBS.

The real question is, If Arkansas wins, will irishtrinity still tell us how big of a joke they are?

This BCS nonsense is ridiculous. Whoever the genius that came up with this cockamamie system was back in 1998, must have been on his way out the door and wanted to see what kind of a ruckus he could cause in the future.

Anyone with common sense could have figured out, what if 3 teams finish undefeated? What if everyone has a loss? What there's one undefeated and everyone else has one loss?

My dream scenario:

Auburn beats Bama
Arkansas beats LSU

Arkansas-LSU in BCS NCG

Even more interesting would be if Alabama lost and then Georgia beat LSU in the SEC championship game. That would make 4 SEC teams with two losses, and no NC spot. Would likely be a good but not great ViRginia Tech team verses who?? A 13-0 Houston? I can't see that personally. Stanford I guess if they beat us.

LSU is only going to the SEC title game if they are undefeated, so it is impossible to have 4 2 loss teams. 3 will be the max.

*LSU loses to Arkansas, Bama is going to SEC Title Game. Either way, LSU is GUARANTEED a spot in the NCG no matter what happens.

Damn, I didn't realize that for some reason I was under the impression since LSU beat Bama they would go.

It would be the same scenario the Big 12 had a few years ago:

Bama beat Arky, lost to LSU
Arky beat LSU, lost to Bama
LSU beat Bama, lost to Arky

Highest in BCS would go to SEC title, so it would be Bama in that scenario. LSU can't finish with more than one loss, so they are guaranteed a spot in the NCG.

Also of note, if the 2 highest ranked teams going to the NC game are from the same conference then a 3rd would be allowed into the BCS system.

LSU has an interesting dilemma:

Do they beat Arkansas to go to SEC title game to stay as sharp as possible for the NCG, but risk injury in the extra game?

OR

Do they lose against Arkansas to avoid extra chance of injury, and immediately begin preparation for NCG?

I'm definitely not a BCS expert, so maybe I'm missing something here. But how is it a foregone conclusion that LSU will play in the NCG? If they lose to Arkansas, isn't it possible that the voters could vote both Arkansas and Bama (and maybe another team) ahead of LSU? And couldn't that be enough to bump them out of the top 2?

See OU and Nebraska. OU got blasted by KState in the Big12 championship but went to the NCG game anyways, where they lost to LSU. Nebraska got hammered by Colorado and went on to get double jail sexed by Florida St.

OK, maybe you missed my question. I realize it is possible, even likely, that if LSU loses they would still get a chance to play in the NCG. But my question was how is it a foregone conclusion? Irishsteelhead made it seem like it was a fait accompli. Is it actually, or is that just the best guess at this point?
