ND Bowl Predictions 2011

Its the Champs Sports bowl whether ND beats Stanford or not. Most think it will be vs FSU, maybe VTech depending on how things shake out.

Remember it is not the team that lands in 3rd place in the ACC but the 3rd pick amongst ACC schools.

That means it will be ACC #3 vs. either the Big East #2 or ND.

If anyone here thinks the Champs Sports Bowl will pick the second Big East team over ND you are crazy because there is no way that would happen. And they will want FSU if still available at #3 because the bowl is in Florida and the history between the teams.

We can take the place of any conference that has not enough qualifying teams.

Take the top 25 after 10 regular-season games: Give the top seven a bye in week one. The other 18 will be reduced to nine after one game. Then we've got 16 (nine plus the seven byes) and in four weeks a national champion.

The whole system is a joke. It should be based on record. That way it actually gives us something to fight for. I want the Chick Fila, Capital One, or Cotton Bowl. Mostly I want us to play Georgia. If you don;t live in Georgia than you dont know what I am talking about but these BUlldog fans are the dumbest collection of people I have ever seen. They lose 2 and want Richt gone and win 3 and they think they are the greatest. And on a side note many of them think they can beat LSU in the SEC Championship. They have held AU to 51 rushing yards, LSU held them to 91. UGA held AU to 190 total yards, LSU held them to 250. Aaron Murray is perhaps the most experienced QB in that league right now and all their playmakers are freshman. This team will be really good next year, and I would not be surprised if they give LSU a run for their money or upset them in the SEC Championship game (No one gave them a shot in 2005 either).

I'll describe Georgia for you... overrated. They had the easiest schedule in the SEC and Auburn is trash anyway. Crowell is a cry baby who leaves every game with an "injury". I will admit the D isn't terrible but Murray can't take a game and win when he needs to. O and LSU will destroy that team from start to finish and will probably by about 4 touchdowns. If you live here you will understand my hatred for this team. If you never watched college football and just listened to these people you would think Hershell Walker just graduated a few years ago and that they have just as many championships as Alabama and Notre Dame combined! These people are about as annoying as they come. O and to make it worse I still can't find a Georgia fan who cares about any other of Georgia's sports.

100% Champs Sports Bowl vs. Florida State. You have to realize the bowl system is about making money. They will take ND because they are ND whether they end up 9-3 or 7-5. For the same reason they will take the home state Florida State team over a Va Tech or anyone else in the ACC #3 spot.

I know that the bowls are about making money through advertising but couldnt they give the bowl games legit names then just say presetned by "whatever advertisement" like couldnt it be the "legit sounding name" bowl presented by champs sports or something? That way when the players are getting ready for it and the coach is telling them what bowl theyre going to it feels like a game that means something. Sorry if I rambled its been a long day lol

I don't necessarily think it's a lock that Champs Sports will take FSU. It's a more interesting match-up, but Florida Citrus Sports is about promoting hotels and tourism as much as anything else. A lot of the FSU fans will just drive to the game and leave, versus farther away fans who will stay for New Year's Eve.

Perhaps this would be the case if ND didn't travel so well and didn't have history w/ "the home team".

Interesting storylines leading up to the game if that is what transpires...two historic programs under 2nd year coaches looking to get back some mojo that was lost early season.

At this point, I want us to destroy BC. And looking forward to us playing (hopefully upsetting) Stanford.

Then, I want the highest ranked, hardest opponent we can possibly be offered. I want this team to play the best team available, no matter which Bowl, and no matter which team that happens to be.
