Senior Day, Our last home game of the year, and the last ND home game of their careers. I would start as many seniors as possible, and rotate in the rest during the first set of downs, on offense, and defense, then go to my normal game plan from there.

Thoughts?

I don't have a problem with it. I think we're going to handle BC quite soundly.

no.
why risk something? plus, in a lot of cases, the seniors do start.

BK is not "emotional" that way. he will play the seniors in can, when he can. but, its business first, nostalgia second.

I completely agree with you Terry.
Play em,don't start em.
It doesn't matter if we're great and theyre terrible in a year, they ALWAYS play us tough, and it is always relatively close. No need to try and keep it close.

If we are up by 3 scores going into the 4th does anyone else think Dayne should play that entire quarter?

if coach kelly is satisfied with the progress made by tommy up to that point than yes. if not no. remember we have two more games after this one. games that could go a long way in the direction of the program.

That would certainly be a clear indication (to me, at least) that he will not be back next year. That would be one depressing quarter of football.

Fair enough. Just thought despite some of his shortcomings as a player if he does leave this would be a nice thank you he's come across as a good guy through all of this.

Let's get 42+ in the first half and then play every senior we have in the second half...including walk-ons.

Jonas Gray 5 tds runs. You play em you dont start them. Its their day BK knows that he will do something for the seniors. Make Michael Floyd game day captain though please i know some of you might not like that but he turned into one of my favorite if not favorite player ever. Kids make mistakes and it has only helped Michael become a better person and football player. He deserves to be a captain for what he has done these last two years.

I think you start a guy like John Goodman, Sean Cwynar, etc. ceremonially. I don't know what you do with Dayne Crist.

I said this earlier but in any other sport a guy like Dayne would start the game. But no other sport has a position like QB. Probably can't in good conscience start him, but I hope the team is aiming for 49-0 at halftime so the seniors can get in.

I think it would be really cool, given the time is right, that we have an offensive series with all senior players. Even if were up by 60, the play calling is in the manner of the first series of the game. Take it down the field and score. Not 3 dives up the middle.

When I say Start, I just mean in a ceremonial way. Just give them the "start" (first play from offense or defense) then replace them as needed, as soon as the next play or series of downs, whatever works to stay on the gameplan.

I think the seniors leading them onto the field, and all going out for the coin toss would be cool also.

It's gonna be a great day and win!

I would much rathe see Crist start before Goodman. But i know that isn't going to happen.
