Just a heads up, but I did write in my suggestions and received an email back within 90 mins this morning thanking me for my feedback. Whether they are taking it serious or not, at least they appeared to have read it...

Irish/Celtic music with a rock edge, simple as that. Got some songs in my head just no idea title/artist are.

Plus: Frigging bagpipes! it scared the hell outta da huns in the War !

Green plastic shelilaghs people can bang together to make noise during opponent drives !

Less talk of green on the unis, more talk of green in the stands!

Even with all that I don't believe it's overdone/caricatural, it's simply establishing a brand name atmosphere.

Overdoing it? dressing ushers as Leprechauns so we don;t take them seriously when they ask us to sit down/shut up

Does this involve the coaches or players? This is interaction between the fans and a guy who is in charge of the gameday atmosphere. I don't see what your beef is.

You don't believe that all of the distractions from last week had anything to do with our performance? My thing is why don't we focus on this stuff in the off-season??

You do? Did they have players and coaches putting together the music list, coordinating the towels with Sprint, or polishing the new helmets? I don't think so.

This argument strikes me as another form of the Irish aversion to high expectations we see whenever preseason rankings come out. Poor play is never the result of being overrated, and ND didn't lose to USC because of the atmosphere or the hype either.

Why don't we focus on winning?

Depends on what you mean by "we."

If we = the football team, I am sure they are.

If we = this forum, then we really don't have any input on what happens on the field... Unless we can help with the music selection, which in turn could help with crowd noise and make ND stadium a nasty intimidating place for teams to come into play. Just doing our part man.... Oh and what better things do we have to do?

And thank you BGIF for that info!

So all this being said...what do you realistically expect the stadium to be like on Saturday? Day game, towels are gone, its not USC...do we revert back to sitting on our hands or does the stadium build on last week?

I sent my email an hour ago and I got an email back 20 minutes ago thanking me for the list of possible songs I provided!

I feel special!

Nothing would get my middle school heart beating like hearing Korn's Blind for the team's entrance.

I liked the idea of crazy train. I've always liked the beginning of that song as a pump up.

HOWEVER,

playing it on every 3rd down was a little repetitive.

Playing I'm Shipping up to Boston at kickoff was GENIUS though. Nothing gets me more pumped up than that song.

Thunderstruck is a must. The crowd should change "ND" instead of "Thunder" too.

Still think we need some friggin bagpipes. I would start this at about the 14sec point. Use it on 3rd downs or key situations etc. It connects with the Celtic heritage and would be our very own. We wouldn't be copying everyone else in America.

Plus it would annoy the crap out of the opposing team... and hopefully the old fuddy duddy's that sit on their hands.

ND needs a unique and cool entrance a la VTech's Enter Sandman. Not sure what they used for USC, but if people aren't talking about it then it must not have been that memorable.

They should use the first few minutes of Thunderstruck (preferably a live version with the thunder noise intro) for their entrance and change the "Thunder" chant to "ND" like I suggested.

Pretty sure a version like the one below would bring the house down. Play it while the team is in the tunnel and have them run out at 2:30.

We used Dropkick Murphy's Shipping up to Boston which worked really well.

Village People "In the Navy" for this weekend? Just as a courtesy for our opponents? (Warning: you probably have to remember the disco era to get this joke.)
