TL;DR: USC fans are joining the site at the beginning of the year to troll during game day. New low.

So, I've never seen this before, (only belong to IE) and this appears to be a planned, make-benign-posts-for-a-few-weeks troll who is evidently desparate to infiltrate the message boards to convince ND fans that the Irish aren't that good.

Case in point this post for the USC game-thread:

I've been posting since the beginning of the season.

The first Notre Dame I remember was the '95 Fiesta Bowl against Colorado when the Irish got run out of the stadium by Kordell Stewart and Rashan Salaam. Things haven't changes since. Get used to it!

All I saw all week was Irish fans on here going on and on about how Notre Dame was going to be a machine and just demoralize USC on both sides of the ball. Wake up! Notre Dame is an average team.

Enjoy your vacation troll.

Correct cal by Junkhead.

To bring up, as your supposed "first memory", a 6-5-1 ND team being beaten in the Fiesta Bowl by a heisman winner/2000 yard rusher and 1-loss Bullaloes is obviously trolling. That team was ranked #2 in the country for part of the season, and finished #3. (Not to mention that their one loss was to one of the best teams in CFB history). If this was truly a vivid "memory" then he would remember this. So he or she is clearly not a fan of ND.

Funny how the troll also seems to conveniently have not seen or not remember the win over #5 USC that year. (Motive?)

Basically,

(Selective negative memory) + (Use of such "memory" as a single anecdote to make the case for entire state of the team for last 15 years being "average") = troll.

Seriously, if I hated ND, and wanted to rub-in bad losses on big stages, this would be the one I would start with, as my "first memory". You could at least throw-in a shout out to (Which also begs the question of how he/she became a fan in the first place...)

But the main reason behind this post, other than alcohol and halftime boredom, is that this guy has been claiming to have been posting since "the beginning of the season". Which clearly was an elaborate effort to gain credibility, and a "sophistication" (for lack of a better term...) that I've personally never seen before. (Although IE is the only site I post to...It's just the best there is.)

Does any one think if we wrote enough letters to NBC we could get rid of Hammond?
