Here is a little write up by Arash Markazi from ESPN Los Angeles. As if we aren't already amped for the game....

"I'm not a betting man but when I first saw the line for the USC-Notre Dame game (Irish by 8.5 points) I nearly jumped in my car and drove to Las Vegas. (Yes, I know you can place bets online these days but that wouldn't be nearly as dramatic.)

There is no way Notre Dame is beating USC by more than a touchdown. In fact, Notre Dame will lose its fifth straight game to USC in South Bend, Ind. Yes, I know Notre Dame broke USC's 8-game winning streak against the Irish last season after Ronald Johnson dropped a sure touchdown but the Trojans were the better team then and they are again this year.

Anytime Notre Dame wins a few games in a row, the country gets overly excited about the Irish. Let's forget that they started the season 0-2 and that their defense isn't that good, let's just focus on what they did against Air Force and Purdue and beating Pittsburgh 15-12. There's no hotter team in America than a Notre Dame team on a five-game winning streak.

Sorry, I'm not buying it. I don't think Notre Dame will be able to get pressure on Matt Barkley without blitzing and I don't think Notre Dame's secondary is going to be able to match up with Robert Woods and Marqise Lee. It'll be a shootout but USC will win. It's just too bad I won't be able to watch the game in Vegas."

If he had legit facts to back his story up then he has a case but just saying the defense is not good does not qualify. Also, if we just beat Pitt what does he have to say about USC barely beating Minnesota, at home?

I love it when people talk about Ronald Johnson's "sure" TD... while ignoring that the only reason he was open was the SAME REASON HE DROPPED THE PASS! Lots of rain = hard to keep your footing, and equally hard to catch a football thrown a bit behind you.

Want to focus on ND's 0-2 start? How about focus on USC BARELY beating maybe the worst college football team in the nation in Minnesota. Or how they had to block a Utah field goal to eek that one out. Or how they got stomped by a very average ASU team. Or how they survived, after giving up a whopping 41 points, a very poor Arizona team.

There is nothing about USC that impresses me except for the star ratings of their recruits and the skill of their WRs. But enough talk. In 2 hours we get to see it on the field.

We are writing history, and today's game is another page in the book of ND vs USC.

I completly agree Lax. He has no facts to support anything. Pure opinion, and a terrible one at that. If our defense was so bad, how has no team, sans Air Force for obvious reasons, been able to run the ball on us. Their WRs are good, but I "Don't Believe the Hype" about USC.

Being a sports writer must be a good gig. You can say whatever dumb stuff comes to the top of your head and never have to worry about being wrong. It's not like this guy is going to recant or eat crow if we beat USC by two TD's.

Like being the local weatherman in San Diego. Only the weatherman probably gets laid.

So he picks ND to win...... But he claims in his article that they won't. Man I love journalism.
