Didn't Kelly say yesterday in his press conference they were going to be different? I think we can throw standard blues out.

Do you think managers and coaches, although they have twitter, are actually going to ruin the secret? Absolutely not. But there's a slim to zero chance that 85 kids who have tons of friends on campus, combined with twitter and facebook are going to keep the jersey's a secret when everyone wants to know. That's impossible.

Maybe there will be some small hint at the Pep Rally on Friday? It would be pretty cool to have it at the Stadium and not give away the jerseys but give us juuuust enough to drive us nuts until game time.

You quoted the right person but wrong comment. I am not trying to argue, I am just saying that 85 could keep a secret just as good as 20. The odds are greater with 85 that it will be leaked. In my opinion, they know before Saturday. But in response to the bold portion of your comment, Kelly ruined one secret already this year, so yes I think they would, just not this time.

No knowledge of if the players knew before hand or not, but the effect it had on the crowd was unbelievable. Which, by half of the posts this week, this is the effect they really want.

The 1977 USC game this happened, and it was a surprise to everyone, and USC got "Prison Loved". My father was at the game in 77 and said it was one of the best scenes he had ever experienced in Notre Dame Stadium.

Special uniforms are a double-edged sword in terms of firing up players. Remember the debacle in 2002 against BC?

BC players after the game said that they thought it was really cute that ND played "dress up" for them, and it motivated the Eagles even more than they already were to go out and win.

Whenever a team wears a different jersey it will motivate the other team's players. I guarantee USC players will be saying something very similar to what BC players said before the game. Won't matter after we beat them by 2 scores, nobody will bring it up then.
