Matt Fortuna gave stickers to:

Tommy Rees
Offensive line
Cierre Wood/Jonas Gray
Michael Floyd
Manti Te'o
Aaron Lynch
Gary Gray/Robert Blanton

The OL protected Rees, with help from the RBs picking up the blitzes, and opened up huge holes.

Preseason the two biggest questions for ND was at QB and OLine. The OLine has helped the QB situation and the quick release, quicker decisions has helped the OLine. This team is still a work in progress but showing improvement each week.

Now if we could get a helmet sticker somewhere on Special Teams.

Of course big up to FLOYD/JONAS/WOOD but how about those 'D-8 Catipiler Bulldozers' up front--man I've been waiting for this. If you are an offensive lineman and you play for Notre Dame ( and read these postings at times ) I hope you feel good about your group because we are proud of you. Nice!!!! Now go road grade Air Force. They need a nickname-I like the D-8's

Sticker REMOVALS!!! There has to be atleast on sticker removal. That is for Bob Diaco's **** poor defensive scheme against Air Force. They moved the ball pretty much at will on our defense all day long. We gave up the edge non-stop. If it were not for some unusual turnovers by Air Force, this would have become a shoot out. A strip fumble and unbelievable INT by Slaughter stop two drives headed toward the red zone.

If our offense sputters at all against Navy, we are in for a LOOONG day!!!

Kelly said the gameplan wasn't to stop AF's offense, it was just to keep them from scoring every time they had the ball. The last two TDs of the game were on our third string defense. AF didn't do very much scoring against our 1s and 2s. Take away Lynch's offsides penalty on 4th and 1 and the fake punt (both ended in TDs for AF) and the scoring is a lot more lopsided.

Maybe it's just me, but this was the first N.D. game where the offense looked like BK's Cincy teams. They just score so often and so easily that it's tough to outshoot them. I mean, look at things from the other side. Notre Dame looks like a scary assignment for a defense. How do you stop the Irish when they have so many weapons? And two QBs.

We were in a Cover 2 all day to take away the big play, which worked, but it also conceded big chunks of yardage on the edges. Diaco's goal was simply to keep AF off the scoreboard, and he succeeded. The score was 49-16 when our 1s and 2s came off the field. Furthermore, as BleedBlueGold pointed out, if not for a couple ST miscues, our starting defense would probably have held AF to 9 points or less.

AF has a good offense and they're difficult to defend (just ask Oklahoma). Diaco did a fine job of stopping AF.

Unlike AF's Jefferson, Navy's QB is a terrible passer. I expect we'll keep a single high safety and load the box, which should allow us to stuff their run game. Hopefully you'll be happier with that score line.

Yup, they did look like the Cincy BCS teams, but with better athletes and overall talent.

I would give a sticker to Slaughter, he played much better on the pitch than he did in the AF game.
