ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT IS BACK.

The greatest comedy not named Seinfeld to have ever graced the Earth with its presence will return for 9-10 episodes and a movie. I don't know any words in the English language to appropriately describe how awesome this news is.

If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and watch it. Pound-for-pound it's the funniest show you'll ever watch; I've never seen a show get exponentially funnier and be so constantly brilliant.

“I have been working on the screenplay for a long time and found that as time went by there was so much more to the story,”

"we’re all game, we hated be coy, we’ve been trying to put together this more ambitious idea and I think we’re very close, the script is halfway done and we have to get the film companies on board,” Hurwitz continued. “They’ve always been great to us but you know times are tough and money is tight but I’m very hopeful , there is business left to be done but creatively we have a very specific plan of how it would come out and what we would do and when we would shoot it. Our hope is that, perhaps the series is in the fall.”

Movie rumors have been simmering since the show ended, but it looks like it will actually happen. So pumped. I had to share the great news.

I like Always Sunny, and it's always funny but I feel like it really is Seinfeld on crack, or the love child of Seinfeld and Jackass. It's great, I laugh, but I don't always shake my head acknowledging how clever it is.

I prefer the brilliant writing of AD over anything.

The second greatest comedy not named Seinfeld. I prefer The League, which starts on Thursday!

I have heard great things about The League. I will definitely download it at some point and watch it.

I would strongly recommend to everyone to watch The Wire if you haven't seen it. That show is in a league of its own. There is no close #2 in my opinion. It's the greatest show that ever was and that ever will be.

YES! I love this show. I had only heard of it, but a couple years ago, i watched every ep on hulu. Fantastic show. As far as best comedies, Always Sunny, The League, Community, Modern Family, and South Park are my faves, along with Arrested Development. Another show that I really like is Blue Mountain State. It's not as intelligent as some of the above shows but is pretty funny. I'd only recommend it to college-age viewers though.

Also, I can't wait for Will Arnett (Gob) to finally be in a show that won't get cancelled (he had Running Wilde, which wasn't too bad, but wasn't great, and now Up All Night, which is way too cliche to stay on for too much longer). Besides, Gob is the role he was meant to play.

Will Arnett, Michael Cera, and Jason Bateman have all blown up since AD first aired. Impressive that they're getting the whole cast back together.

AD was the best show on television during its run.

Love that they're back.

I was following the movie rumors for a while (years), but had given up. This is AWESOME news. I'm a huge Seinfeld/Curb guy, but the writing on AD might be a little better. It is totally self contained and brilliantly layered. It bugged me at the time that it got cancelled for being too smart for the typical TV audience, but ironically its short run has really helped it hold up because it never got stale. A one season + movie comeback/conclusion is absolutely perfect.

It seems like we have an identical taste in TV shows. The Wire and Arrested Development might be my 2 favorites of all-time. Plus Sunny, Futurama, Seinfeld, and the first three seasons of The Office (everyone since has sucked).
