Per 24 7. Loved the way ND played mostly the line backers. Will be at the USC game and is really looking forward to it. IMO he was there to see ND and not Purdue. Kid is an absolute man child and would love to keep him in state.

I'm assuming this is Jaylon?

Gawd I hope OSU gets hit with some sanctions. Though his mom wants him to stay in state they seem to be in the driver seat.

While there is a looooooooooooooong way to go in the recruitment of Jaylon, how terrible would it be to lose in-state athletes like Perkins and Smith in back-to-back years? Indiana isn't exactly a talent-producing machine.

If we don't land Kiel, either...

Second time on campus this season, right? We'll see what happens. Would be a great get.

"@JGPrepsPlus: Luers' Jaylon Smith wearing Michigan hat while watching girls hoops. The fb recruit said he picked up offers today from Michgan and Iowa."

"@JGPrepsPlus: Update: Jaylon Smith switches to Notre Dame hat. Can't keep up."

" @JGPrepsPlus: Looks like a pair of #NotreDame fb asst. coaches sitting behind Luers bench, probably keeping eye on Jaylon Smith"

His brother certainly didn't get off to a hot start with the new staff. He missed the bowl game because he didn't wake up in time for the team charter and didn't want to pay his own way.
I haven't heard anything specific about him transferring, but I certainly would not be shocked.

His brother's career at OSU hasn't exactly gone as planned, so I wouldn't be shocked to see Jaylon go some where else regardless of Rod's situation.

Let's just hope he doesn't commit a year early...we all know how that goes...

Christian Lombard had no problem keeping his commitment. Tee Shep had some drama, but he's still Irish. Jimmy Clausen committed a year and a half before he ever played a game for the Irish. Heck, we already have one O-lineman committed this year. Lots of kids who commit early stick to it. Some don't (and sometimes it's because the school cools on the kid), but that's all part of the game.

I'd much rather be in the driver's seat than chasing the driver. So if he commits, all the better...

This kid is an absolute beast now. I played against him when he was a freshman and was decent for being so young, but looking at his highlight tape now looks like a totally different person. He is an absolute freak of an athlete and would thrive and OLB in Diaco's defense. He is 6'3" 210 lbs with legit 4.5 speed and has the frame to carry another 30 lbs without losing speed and athleticism. He is pure upside and will be one of the best players in the nation for his class.

i'd take this kid now up til 2013 signing day, whenever he's ready, especially with our need for edge players, which seems to be the focus for 2013 from reports.
