I thought he was a UGA lean.

I thought he was a UGA lean.

Isn't he still considered a very strong Florida lean? He was last time I knew which means we would be competing against Chuck Weis. Great to be mentioned in this guys top 5 but I think Florida is a strong leader early. Hopefully an OV will change his mind.

UA signed his older brother as a LS. Down payment for the younger brothers services.

Did you drop the "G" when typing? UA is the University of Alabama.

National Notes: If we had to guess

John Theus, OT, Jacksonville (Fla.) Bolles: Georgia
The Bulldogs are in great shape to land the talented offensive tackle after signing his older brother, Nathan Theus, in the 2011 class. There are no locks in recruiting, but he’s about as close as one can get unless something changes with the Bulldogs program between now and the time he signs. In that case, Florida and others are players

Bolles' five-star lineman John Theus commits to Georgia | jacksonville.com

July 15, 2011 By Hays Carlyon jacksonville.com

...

Bolles offensive tackle John Theus, a consensus five-star prospect, committed to the Bulldogs on Friday night while visiting the campus for Dawg Night football camp. Theus’ decision was confirmed by a member of his family late Friday night.

Rivals.com lists Theus as the seventh-best overall player in the country. The 6-foot-6, 292-pound Theus chose Georgia over Florida, Alabama, Notre Dame and Texas.

His older brother, Nathan, signed with Georgia this past February as a long snapper.

I don't think he goes anywhere other than UGA. I feel like he and a couple other recruits are just going for the good game and social aspect. Hope I'm wrong.

FWIW I've read a few other boards (Texas and a couple others) that he is looking around quite a bit. Who knows.

Like goldenisthyfame said if its not UGA. Ill bet on it being Florida. Florida guys really like there chances with Theus and he is high on Charlie Weis and Verducci.

Is it possible that they wouldn't fire Richt til after these kids sign? Or at least until some big recruits EE?

Of course this is only if they fire Richt who I would like to stay at Georgia just because from what I know he is a pretty good guy.

Because of the recruiting cycles today you fire a coach as early as you can and get the new guy on board. So the new guy can come in and salvage the current class. Wait until after NSD and the best available coaches are already signed while your class has been plucked during the lame duck period.

I can't think of anybody they could pick up before a bunch of other schools though. I can't even imagine a large coaching shift this year.

Skip Holtz is the only guy who might be making a name for himself that isn't an coordinator (that I can think of).

Dan Mullen. Dooley.

But for as big of a program as Georgia is or presumes to be, I don't think either of those guys are quite as big of choices as they would want. Mullen's projected best bulldog team yet is lucky to be 2-2 right now, and Derek Dooley still has a ways to go at Tennessee before he can be credited with any sort of turn around.

I wonder what happens if Richt beats Mullen this weekend.

I dont know anybody in there right mind would fire Richt. But Dooley's dad owned at Georgia and I think hes a good coach.

People who constantly expect to be at the top (apparently more than they ever have been too). :p

I agree though. Hell even Dooley had his rough years at Georgia and more so than Richt.
