"He had his best drive and was good, no doubt. But there's NO reason this team should be in that position against the WORST passing defense in the nation!"

bro - Rees doesn't call the plays. he's not the coach. our scheme was out-matched by the Pitt defensive coordinator, Rees made GREAT throws to Eifert.

Crist's fave receiver is the Tuba player. watch tape from last year - Crist is terrible. Rees isn't a first round draft pick, no one is claiming that, but right now he's good enough.

how about Ben Turk and Jonas Gray and Eifert? awesome job.

Good enough for 9 TOs in 3.5 games. Turk, Jonas, Blanton, Shembo, Flemming, Floyd, Cierre to some extent all had great games.

Sorry, I say stick with Tommy being at Purdue next week. If it was home, then maybe Crist, but don't make a switch gonig into an away environment.

In past years, we would have lost that game. If/when our offense clicks, this team will be very dangerous. There's still plenty of time to go.

A win is a win and I for one will enjoy reading all the hate tonight, complaining over a win. It should be fun.

Way to go Irish!!! You did what you had to do to win. Go Irish!!!

Can we still examine the QB position? Aside from the one drive, Tommy played horrible.

If he starts next week he better thank Theo and Eifert for making some amazing catches.

If one of those difficult passes are dropped he goes a whole game against managing a scoring drive against the worst pass defense in the nation.

Agreed. This is a serious concern. We appear to be damned if we do, damned if we don't here.

I don't care about ugly.

We win.
Hell of a last drive and defensive performance.

Yeah, but we play this way against 3/4 of the teams on our schedule and we wind up 3-9. So I disagree that ugly is OK. 1st game of the season, maybe. Not 4 games in (against a very average team no less).

I love it when I see Lynch - Tuitt - Shembo line up front. They were a deadly front.

I'd like to see more Carlo and less Fox; other than that, the D was there and won the game.

It's nice to get a ugly win, easier to come back next week. Next week, we roll.

I hope Hendrix gets more reps w first team this week. After watching this game tape, Kelly will be vary unhappy w the throws of Rees and the way he locked onto 1 receiver.

i'll take an ugly win this week and even 1 next week to get us to 3-2. After that, the Irish need to start playing like a top 25 team. No more posting for me, just whiskey & internet pics of boobs. That's how I celebrate.

Not with Rees behind center, sorry.

It'll be interesting to see what Kelly has up his sleeve this week. I'm sure it'll be shrouded in secrecy, but I'd be shocked to see Tommy start again.

I'm prepared to be shocked.

Either way, relieved to have a win and get back to 500. Lots of football left.

This team's going to give me a coronary.

Why can't they just beat the crap out of inferior teams? Why does it look like instead of trying to win, they're playing not to lose?

Games like this are going to be the death of me.

Purdue isn't a good team, I would like to see us dominate and give Hendrix some minutes next week.

Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good.

I'll take the W but we have SO MUCH to work on. We are far from a BCS bowl team, mostly because we need to get a solid, stable quarterback. I am officially on the Hendrix bandwagon. I just don't think Tommy Rees is going to be able to take this team to its full potential.
