Or it could be as simple as him giving up 2.8 TOs per game this year. Just a hunch.

If you were truly being objective, you'd also list the turnovers committed by the offense under Dayne's leadership. How does that break down?

Committed by the offense? I'm not talking about the offense.

Rees has 5 INTs and 2 fumbles, which equals the 7 TOs mentioned. Crist had one INT in one half.

So, if Crist started all 3 games, he'd be averaging 6 INTs by now and 0 points, ya? You expect less mistakes from your Senior QB. He make some poor choices last year as well that an upperclassman shouldn't be making.

Crist hardly has the sample size, but yes you'd be correct.

I'm not on here complaining about how Rees should be benched. I'm just saying don't dog people who bring up the question. When you're a starting QB and you commit over 2 TOs per game, it's a legit question.

Looking at it objectively, looks like Tommy's beating the breaks off of Dayne.

And, just to be a little more objective, losses to Navy, Tulsa, Michigan state while winning meat grinder games against the likes of Purdue, W. Michigan and injury riddled Boston College. Doesn't inspire me much...Especially after his first half effort against USF.

Just saying, he's got a body of work to study and it's on a whole, pretty underwhelming.

If you take Dayne's one half, he's averaging two turnovers a game too.... Just sayin'.

Even without the TO's, we always have to be looking at what can make us better. Dayne and Tommy are both great young men, but we play football to win not to make friends.

I have to admit, I come on here less now because of the nitpicking and whining.

I'm unpleasantly shocked by the complaining today. WTF? We won convincingly by 18 against the 15th ranked team in the nation. We outphysicalled and dominated them on both sides of the line (when was the last time we could say that about a Michigan St game??). We completely stuffed the run. Were there mistakes? Sure, but man, I'll take the 'W' any day of the week. I'm going to enjoy this week, listening to my college football podcasts again, watching Sportscenter and CFL without lunging for the remote any time ND comes up. If you're complaining THIS much after an 18 point victory over a team that has completely owned us for the better part of 14 yrs, well, I'm glad I don't share your disposition.

Benched in favor of who??? The freshmen who know a fraction of the playbook and have a hard time holding on to the ball? You know, the guys who Rees beat out handily already? Or in favor of Crist, the guy who just isn't good at handling adversity? The guy who the entire stadium was begging to be pulled at halftime of the SF game? Sorry, at this point in time, I don't see how it's a legit question. If Rees continues to struggle and the team loses, then yes, it's a legit question. Right now, let the kid grow into the position...he'll be fine, you'll see.

I am tired of seeing you people over analyze this ****. tommy is the quaterback, he will be for the rest of the season barring an injury so how about we support him. yes he is not perfect, but he is a TRUE SOPHOMORE! give the kid a break and stop over analyzing the game it is annoying! you guys are not division 1 coaches so stop actling like one. I just thank god that Kelly doesnt listen to you guys, otherwise we would be in a far worse situation.

Why can't some of us enjoy a debate, whether it warrants one or not, on the quarterbacks? It's Sunday. We have a whole week of nothing but practice.

I just got done rewatching yesterdays game and I'd like to hear some of your opinions on our QB situation. IMO I think we should either give Dayne another chance to start next week or start Tommy then mix it up a bit by rotating in Dayne and the two freshmen in for a few plays. What do you think?

Absolutely not. Dayne cannot handle pressure. At all. Look at the games we have won with Rees at the helm. He can handle pressure, and yes, he's made mistakes, however he has also proven he can get rid of the ball faster than Dayne, he can accurately throw in tight windows and connect, and he can throw a dart. I am not comfortable coming off a huge much needed win against MSU and playing with fire putting Dayne in the game. He's not comfortable in the pocket, and he can't scan the field. Stick with Rees, the team is noticably more amped when Rees is in the game.

That's why I love you. hahaha. I can't stand this. Seriously guys? ND beat MSU by 18 points, and our defense was phenominal. I want to marry Aaron Lynch and have a million little beasty babies with him. Not really, but the kid is on fire. Blanton...Teo...Rees...Wood...this what we've been waiting so patiently for since 1997. Can't we just enjoy it? We don't have a coach glossing over the mistakes and poo pooing everything to the press. He's a WINNER. He wants to keep WINNING. He's making all the right changes, and ND is getting better.

guysguysguysguys..

we WON.

let's just enjoy it for a week, without the complaining. ND dominated a top-15 team on Saturday---thanks in part to tommy rees---and some guys are out here calling for rees' head.

THIS is the main reason people hate notre dame fans. some guys won't settle for anything less than perfection. it's embarrassing sometimes to see stuff like this after a solid thrashing of a ranked opponent in a must-win game.

i haven't exactly been thrilled with rees' play, but you guys all have to realize that there is no way in HELL he should be benched at this point. do you know what kind of message that would send? if dayne is benched after a half and rees is benched after 2 games in favor of the original starter who was benched after a half? do you know how ridiculous that sounds?

We are all freaked out about TOs right now, but Tommy was fine on that score this week. The fumble was Martin's fault. Cousins did the exact same thing when Lynch hit him. The interception was terrible, but if he keeps it to one interception a game and keeps moving the ball, I'm fine.

Both sides of the ball seem to play with more emotion with Tommy in the game. I think this is more of a leadership issue. Bottom line, we play better with Tommy. No change

I'm with the Pain Train on this too...

Lotta bickering and over-analyzing

if you didn't see the score and came on IE you'd think we lost by 20
