sorry to join this party late, but i broke a lot of glass (unintentionally) and had to stay up till 2 cleaning up...i am seriously jekyll and hyde with notre dame football...really i'm not that bad of a guy in "real" life

I turned off the TV after UM's touchdown to take the lead. I decided that I've invested too much emotionally into this team. I'm going to continue watching and rooting for ND, but I'm going to do it in a much more detached manner. If they win, fine. If they lose, OK. I'm not going to let this team ruin my weekends. Life's too short and too precious.

Feel your pain. Letting a loss ruin your weekend is just as bad as letting a win make it. I'm still trying to find a happy medium where after a game like last night I don't dwell upon it too much.

I was a nervous wreck up until they took the lead. I just couldn't take it anymore. There's more to life than football. I've got a great family, great friends, and a great job. There's not much more I need.

Couldn't agree more. Sat outside after the game and literally had no expression for at least 30 minutes.

I kissed my son goodnight (he is 2) put him to bed and grabbed some whisky to drink. Sigh, no point in screaming or getting angry.

I stated in a previous post that I was too emotionally involved with this team. I sincerely believe this. I bought into all of the pre-season hype. The game last night opened my eyes. ND won't be among the elite for a long time. They're a mediocre team with some great players. It's sort of confusing, I know. But that's just how I see it.

You are right, this team has shown nothing in the last 5 years to prove a renaissance is about to take place. I personally think this is the best team they've had in a while on both sides of the ball, but you can only justify so much after seeing a top 20 pre-season team fall on its face two weeks in a row to arguably inferior opponents.

Yeah I dont know anyone who even watches college football enough to even talk about this. Everytime I talk to my gf about it she just nods her head and hates talking about it. But hey she bought me tickets for the AF game cant complain.

People vent here, yes, and it's put up with, but please don't be one of those posters who only comes here to throw temper tantrums. Those guys annoy the hell out of me.
