I'm guessing it must be a Baltimore thing, the helmets are the same as the Baltimore Ravens shield logos. Doesn't excuse the fact that they are still horrid!

Like them or not, they created quite the buzz and got Maryland football probably the most attention they've had . . . ever?

It is kind of like Boise's blue turf. It gives the program an identity regardless of what people think. So imo, form a marketing standpoint it was pure genius.
