Season's Eve Traditions?

On the day before the opener, I wear my ratty old ND socks, listen to "Here Come The Irish" on constant repeat. And, as is the tradition, remove my signed Brady Quinn Ball from its glass case and give it a good polish. I then spend the rest of the time praying for a solid defense, a competent quarterback, and wins over the teams that were supposed to beat anyways but usually blow. Any other pre-gameday traditions that you guys celebrate? 41 HOURS TO GO!

My "pre-gameday traditions" consist of: waiting, anticipation, and giddiness.

Now on gameday I rock lots and lots of ND garb.

I usually try to keep my mind off of it because time goes by fatser for me. Tomorrow I have school(ugh) then when I get home I will listen to some music and play Call of Duty Black Ops. When 6:15 comes around I will be heading to the Washington game to watch David Perkins and Gehrig Dieter take on Elkhart Central. After that I wait around till 11:00 then head to Notre Dame for the midnight drumline. The day after that...strictly business

I dont have any special traditions, I just try to keep the day normal so I dont get any more nervou about the game.

I normally watch highlights, then get to the point I talk too much and people tell me to shut up. Then I drink, alot, so I know I can sleep in otherwise I will wake up at 6 AM and just toss and turn in the bed. Then my fiance will kick me out of bed and tell me to do something.

Then I get confused and run around outside, do some push ups. Hopefully get tired, never works. Then I probably jump on XBox because it makes the time go by faster.

Next thing you know it is game time and I can't help my nerves.

No offense guys, but if you don't want to think about the game, it's probably not smart to come to a Notre Dame football forum. lol

Drink some Harp. Pass out. Wake up at 10-11. Play Dropkick Murphy and Flogging Molly for a few hours. Drink some more. Gametime.

I am glad my wife works the next 2 days, as I don't have to worry about that. Lots of whisky so I don't have to think about the game. In fact I am getting an early start on that tonight.

No traditions, but I do have a nervous foot and finger tapping habit that starts up around August 1st. I also miss Indiana more than usual during this time of year.

Watch Rudy, highlights from last season, have "the shirt" laid out on the couch ready to wear and say a little prayer/light a candle right before bed.

Wake up gameday..play the fight song and Notre Dame our Mother.

Gather snacks and alcohol so I do not have to venture out the next day. Smoke a cigar and play some NCAA.

Watch Rudy and some other inspirational sports movie like Miracle or Hoosiers. Go online and watch Irish highlight videos.

For the last several years, NDinL.A. and I have a tradition of getting on I.E. and boozing it up a bit as we banter back and forth with other posters. Fun to read some of our posts the next day.

Alas, my friend is in South Bend as we speak so our tradition will consist of some text messages from a South Bend bar, hopefully.

Counting the hours until I can get home and start celebrating! LET'S GO IRISH!!!

Usually have a fantasy football draft.

Get drunk, wake up in time to watch College Gameday, remember I hate it, go out get more beer. Watch a stupid movie til the game comes on, then only get up to use the restroom.
