What is considered attacking other posters?

7. No flaming (i.e. trolling): If a poster comes onto the board with the intent only to flame, and continues to post nothing but flames or engages in no substantive discussion, the poster's posts will be deleted and the poster will be banned
at the monitor's discretion.

8. No attacks on recruits!!!!! It has been proven time and again that recruits and/or their families do read this message board. Act like a Notre Dame fan with class and dignity. And just because a player may choose another school does not give you the right to blast them, in any circumstance. There will be zero tolerance on this issue.

9. No posting of commercial offers or spamming of the board will be permitted.: All threads will be deleted at the discretion of the board monitor.

10. No posting or or distribution any material that infringes and/or violates any right of a third party or any law. Premium information from other websites may not be copied and pasted on to this board. Post will be deleted and member can be banned at the monitors discretion.

11. No signature files that are intended to make fun of other posters are allowed.

12. Signature pictures should not exceed 500 pixels high or wide and should not exceed 200KB. They slow the speed of the board and can also be very distracting to the readers.

13. When you have a problem with a post or thread being deleted, do not start a new thread writing the same thing, and do not start a new thread asking why your post was deleted. Simply send a PM to any of the mods and it will be handled.

15. Absolutely no bullying will be permitted on the site. Constant ridiculing of posters by an individual or group will not be tolerated.

Look, guys, you don't have to like the rules. You just have to obey them.

And if you get too far out of line, there is the "I'll create a rule" clause. Or you'll just get banned.

It's not conflicting if you take it to PM. The IE threads shouldn't be bogged down by two guys going at it. Here's my interpretation: If you want to call out a poster for being an idiot, do it through PM.

Too much precedent has been set to use it conveniently.

If you're PM'ing a mod to tell him to go F himself, I think that will lead to a ban. If you PM another person and say you "disagree for these reasons, Q.E.D., b*tch." That would be considered fine.

Do we really need to know the limits? Act like a normal human being, and everyone will be fine.

Terry, if a mod baits another into a bad situation via PMs, and then deosn't take the high road, as their duty to serve this board entails, and they exaccerbate the situation- its worse.

And then to ban the other is chicken ****.

And this has been done before.

You and I both know of at least two occasions.

Don't list rules unless you have enough to cover recent events.

Then when you make one, post it and make it known.

This subjective banning should always fall in another mod's lap if it's between them and another.

Otherwise, it's just internet tough guy BS.

Protocol, should be another mod to execute the ban given full detail of accounts by both sides.

In the three aforementioned bans, one was justified, one was not, and the last one "fuzzy" or gray (grey?)...

I cannot stand for this injustice and no one here should.

Especially considering these guys have given more good than bad.

And if you aren't a cool enough head to do the job, give up mod-ship. (not you Terry. You as in all)

I can not give you the specifics because I do not remember them. I read many a thread daily and do not memorize them. The post I saw was public and was an attack on another poster. The verbal attack was unprovoked. I do not know if the thread went anywhere after the initial post because I did not go back to it.

There was some unanswered PMs that the attacker took offense towards.

There really is no excuse for being so mean so fast, but I will tell you the man has more **** on his plate than most.

The other guy needs to pick up his big boy pants and come back.

And his sidekick.

Otherwise, they are some thin-skinned guys.

A lot of posters are offended when some take premium content learned and claim it as their own; it's arrogant as hell. It really is.

In general, for personal safety reasons, I will not post in this thread much. But I do have a few comments that I will try to make. Delicately, of course.

1) Mods should always take the high road. What I mean by this is that mods shouldn't be commenting to other posters in a manner that "baits" a member to either defend themselves or want to get into an interweb fight with them.

2) The season is close my friends. Just hold on for a couple more weeks and tempers will start to simmer down. Until then (mods and simpletons alike) we should try to be less accusatory/abusive to eachother. I pledge to this.

3) It would be nice if he had some kind of process where members had a say in punishment. Right now, we have a system like the NFL. Where Goodell (in our case, Mods) have the ability to hand out punishments as they see fit. There is no precedence between cases, and we have no way to appeal any banning decisions or earn your way back into good graces. It seems totaletarian in nature, but that is just my opinion, which may be meaningless.

4)) Tate is good sh!t. I fully expect to at least get a temorary ban hammer at some point. But I would be suprised if it ended up being TT that did it. Very level headed dude.

Overall, the mods have a lot on their plate right now. If both sides tried to meet in the middle a little bit, I think we could get closer to a "kindler, gentler Irish Envy".

I do gotta say this: The mods do a tremendous job, in particular NDinL.A. has particularly been kind to me.

He has allowed me to keep him busy deleting my mess, sometimes for hours in a day.

I have one infraction in my whole existence here, and I should have half a dozen more.

I feel with my case in particular, I have been given MUCH grace.

I also know mods are people too and God's creation has dictated the most perfect of all things, other than himself.

Through Adam and Eve's sins, we have fallen short.

We are imperfect creatures and I expect all mods to have faults.

We all fall short of God.

It is a struggle ladies and gentlemen...

Only the strong of will make the goal.
