Well, it appears there have been some injuries starting to happen at practice. Only info I could find with my access is that Ethan Johnson was not in pads yesterday. Further, some reports that Eilar Hardy and Tate Nichols might have been missing from practice.

Does anyone have any updates???

Injuries have been piling up for many teams, so I am sure we will experience some. I just hope we keep them to a minimum and none are season ending. I would not be suprised if BK is keeping some of our more important players to a minimum on contact. The

The players I consider vital that should be put in a minimum amount of contact are the followoing:

Offense: Dayne Crist, Floyd, Cierre Wood

Defense: Teo, Hayseed

Nichols might have a serious knee injury, however no word for sure yet. No word on Ethan yet, although rumor is it is not serious. Haven't heard a thing on Hardy

Johnson was in upper pads and a helmet, but no lower body pads this morning.

Anthony McDonald and Eilar Hardy weren't at practice this morning.

This is nothing...you should see USC's injury list. That's what 3 hour marathon practices and ultra-physical practices will get you. We're lucky so far (knock on wood that Johnson is OK and no more serious injuries to key players happen)...

Losing EJ would hurt a lot. The other injuries we can take in stride.

ISDUpdate via Twitter:

Kelly says Nichols has a dislocated knee cap. Out at least a month

Could have been much worse.

Ethan Johnson was ill this morning

Thanks GOD!

Kelly says between 6 to 10 freshmen will play this year

Kelly said Crist has gotten majority of 1st team reps. Rees got some 1st team reps today

Niklas will play Cat and Dog. Nicknamed Hercules. Kelly speaks highly of his ability in space

These are all from ISD btw.

All things considered, he has to be happy as hell it's just dislocation.

It may have been just dislocated, but speaking from experience it still hurts like none other, and feels a little lose for a while!

Yeah I had a teammate go down with one... he was in agony and everyone thought he blew out his knee. Doesn't seem fun. But comparing it to actually blowing out your knee, the recovery road back from a dislocation is much easier. Hopefully he doesn't have any structural damage to go along with the dislocation.

6-10 seems low for the freshmen. I would have thought 9 or 10 at the minimum. Lynch, Tuitt, Ishaq, McDaniel, Atkinson, Brindza, Daniels, Hardy, Niklas are mentioned a lot, even if its just about special teams. That's 9 already. Springmann seems to be pushing for the 3rd DT spot, some freshmen OL will be in there as a 2nd teamer, and Golson is obviously a huge threat to see the field. Farley's speed gets talked about all the time. I will be shocked if we play under 10 this year just based on what we've read/seen so far this summer.

It's pretty doubtful that Golson sees the field this year. Brian Kelly could have him running the offense to perfection in (2012?), 2013, 2014, and 2015 so he wouldn't want to burn eligibility.

tate had really shown improvment and i'm sad to see him get banged up, but it's fortunate that not for too long...really forces Lombard to step up and Hegarty too. for this reason i was really surprised Romine didn't get a 5th year, but hindsight is easy.

It seems like whenever there is an injury or setback it takes place with the DB's.

Darrin Walls (personal reasons)
Gary Gray (injury)
EJ Banks ( academics)
Spencer Boyd (transfer)
Eilar Hardy (injury)

That is just recently and at the top of my head.
