The first thing I look at when judging a player is their offer list not at how many stars they have. And his offer list says a lot.
I disagree and I can't remember who spoke out about it a few years ago but whoever it was went on to say that going by the offer list is as faulty as anything else. The reason is that prospects get offered for different reasons some see the prospects as a main part of there recruitment where other see a nice set of tools but nothing more than a project that's got great upside. Sometimes some prospects just don't fit a certain style of play so they won't get some of those sexy offers.

Point being offer lists like trusting the recruiting sites for the rating is only so good and that it's far from fool proof.

Plus a lot of recruits will list offers they don't actually have

Still cant believe scout has yet to move him up from his 3star status to a 4 star...has been playing liking a beast every game his senior year thus far.

the recruiting sites will keep his ranking down as long as possible given that he is a ND verbal. it comes with the territory.

they do tend to devalue ND commits, but recruits who have committed usually dont move around very much. once the spotlight is off, the sites dont lose any sleep watching extra tape on those guys. i dont blame them either. if a guy gives a solid commit, why evaluate whether to move him. their job is to maintain a completely arbitrary concept anyway. i dont expect them to take it so seriously that everyone should be rated appropriately bc its not realistic. ratings mean nothing. even the nfl draft doesnt mean anything, except contract wise. it's all hype and hype don't mean shit.

The thing thats kinda weird to me is scout is generally a little more pro ND than rivals is, but scout is the one listing him as a 3 star....scout alot of time actually seems a little notre dame biased. I know the ratings dont generally mean much but those people do know a little something about a recruits potential, VHT recruits generally pan out much better in college than recruits that arent as highly touted. I know there are exceptions to this, but it is an imperfect system just like anything else.

Although I think ESPN is the worst of all the rankings, they have him in their top 150.

Espn doesnt have the best rankings, but i have to give them credit that they seem to base much of their rankings on pure speed. Nice to see EJ made the list just based on that category.

This kid was one of my favorite recruits from the 09' class. The kid could ball if you watch his high school tape. I think would have and could make an outstanding WR in college. Best of luck to EJ.

Remember former ND DB E.J. Banks? Listed as a CB at Pitt, he worked at quarterback this spring. Ran for 69 yds on 13 carries in spring game
Good for him.

Banks has been a walk-on at Pitt. I read Sunday that he was granted a scholarship for his last year.

I hope he has a great season except for Nov 9th when TJ, DaVaris, and Chris serve him some toast. May not see much action as he appears to be about the 5th or 6th CB for Pitt.

Banks is not on the Pitt Two Deep. He's played in only one game this year.
