Welcome. It's going to happen. 4 weeks to go.

Well I haven't posted in awhile, but I'm back. I'm extremely disappointed in you guys and your lack of nerdy ND knowledge. NBC contract does not matter. Gameday was in south Bend in the early 2000's for a UM ND game and had the set right in front of Touchdown Jesus. Cmon you guys. You're better than that. Now leave me alone as I watch my 2002 ND DVD "Return To Glory". Yes my life sucks and I know this. Good day.
I went to the Georgia Tech-ND game in Atlanta some odd years ago. Gameday was there too. It was a pretty cool thing to see setup.
Does anybody think there's a chance that College Gameday decides to go to Notre Dame for our game against USC? They made a huge deal out of Michigan's night game, so why not us? There's not even very many good games that week, with the best being Wisconsin-MSU.
My guess is we probably won't be considered due to NBC.
Yeah I think it being at ND and on NBC will hurt the chances of being on gameday. Although, haven't ND home games been on gameday before?
[B said:BurningRiver;563528]Wasn't Gameday at ND for the Bush Push game? I'm pretty sure I remember seeing a clip of Corso putting on the Leprechaun hat, yelling "fuhgettaboutit!" and putting on t[/B]he SC helmet. Unfortunately he was right. damn cheaters
But that game was far-and-away the biggest game of the week and even of the season until that point. So it was a no-brainer that they would be there for an intense rivalry between an upstart, top-10 ND team and USC.
It wouldn't make sense next weekend for them for a few reasons:
1. It is likely both teams will be unranked. Now, we can argue to all ends about how ND deserves to be ranked, but the fact of the matter is that ND is a disappointing 4-2 and unranked, while SC is (insert record here) and not very good.
2. The big selling point for this game is that it's at night. What does ESPN care if it's at night? They aren't showing it on their networks
3. LSU and Auburn play that weekend, I believe. LSU is a dominant #1, and Auburn, damn cheaters, is undefeated I believe. So like it or not, that's a more enticing game.
4. the biggest reason and most important reason is that they would, in effect, be advertising for a game that they wouldn't even be showing on their networks. 90% of the time the game they're at Gameday for is the ABC game of the week, but it wouldn't be if NBC had the game. A waste of money that could be potentially spent advertising for a game they actually would profit from.
But screw all these reasons! Come to South Bend, Gameday! Bring it!

Fighting Irish dominating and USC very strong first Night game at the Greatest College Football fanbase/traditions/history/Stadium..
how can you resist?
we are rolling thats what everyone has been waiting for and then they put USC in front of us let's see if we can beat down some folks and rise and take it!..
also think about the Gameday at ND i went last week and it was packed on campus/ stadium another wave at the stadium 59 crowd pushups enough said.... you got a huge fanbase and the attractions out the ***.... the campus is gold it's packed with gameday traditions like 2 full days of non stop sight seeing walking atleast 5 miles a day... nothing can compare to it.... the colors of the trees and so many also make it a definite bucket list .
LSU Aurburn closest to being worthy not even really tho LSU have been on two so far that's enough and Auburn we all know are going to be crushed so for a great game i'd say we are a lock for it.... if not NBC is National and they will do it right regardless.. Go Irish beat USC

So, if Florida beats Auburn (very possible), that means #1 LSU vs. unranked Auburn on the 22nd.
If MSU beats Mich, that leaves top-5 WI vs. unranked MSU.
I don't see any other match-ups on the 22nd that would have more draw than USC. ND.
Do we hope Mich wins this to give us a chance at college gameday or has that ship sailed?
I think MSU winning is better in the long run for ND, because we'd have a solid top 25 to our credit. MSU will lose to Wiscy, but has a chance to win out. ND beats SC, then we will jump MSU when they lose to Wisy
