Do you think it's unreasonable to say that a RB with Cam's production in Texas 5A wouldn't have gotten a 4:s: from at least one recruiting service if he was black? How about an ATH with Baratti's measurables? Though I'm willing to allow that Baratti's low ratings are probably more attributable to the fact that he projects at a position which he hasn't played much in high school.

Lol I just wanted to give you a hard time. I agree with you about Cam, I think he was over looked. I think part of the reason Barrati is lower is because of the 'athlete' tag. He's kind of between S and LB from what I understand, and that's hard to rate so to be safe they'd rather low ball him rather than over-rate him and look foolish in the end.

I agree with you, though. Barrati is a 4-star.

I looked for this twice in this thread and didn't see it. Hopefully I didn't miss it.

ISD had an update on Nicky on Wednesday. Relevant snippet:

Baratti, who will take his official visit to Notre Dame for the Michigan State game during his team’s only bye week in September, had hoped to see some significant time at his future college position, but it sounds like the needs of his high school team will take precedent.

“I talked to my coach and he told me in key situations, I’d play defense,” Baratti said. “He said he doesn’t want me to get hurt and doesn’t want the team to suffer just because I want to play safety. I feel where he’s coming from, but I’m going to be chomping at the bit to get in at safety.”

I was at the stadium with my wife last year and they played a song I'd heard thousands of times and the announcer said it was by the Black Eyed Peas. I said to my wife, "I didn't know that was by them." The dude in front of me turned around and literally asked me if I had been living under a rock (poster from above???). Didn't know about Eminem until I moved overseas, etc... Different priorities.

I can remember being somewhat nonplussed when I was a kid and my dad didn't know about all this pop culture stuff or didn't have an opinion of the hot new baseball prospect for the Cubs. Now I understand.

I wish the young man a speedy recovery, but I suggest he doesn't rush anything. Concussions are serious things.

as stated in another thread... i was with nick on friday night and he had a greeeatttt time i can assure you. the extent to which will that solidify his verbal obviously is unknown, but I did my best to make sure he had a lottt of fun haha
