Visiting for ND's camp in June.

Bosch Coming To Camp

Kyle Bosch is one of the top offensive linemen in the Class of 2013 and has some offers to back that up.

The 6-foot-5, 275-pounder from Wheaton, Ill., (St. Francis) currently holds offers from Arizona, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State and West Virginia. Bosch is also receiving interest from schools like Notre Dame, Alabama, Nebraska, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Oregon and Penn State among several others.

“It’s exciting,” he said of the early interest. “It’s kind of a dream come true.”

Bosch has already started hitting the camp circuit for the summer.

“I went to Iowa and Wisconsin last weekend and Iowa offered,” he said.

Bosch keeps in contact with Notre Dame and will be on campus later this week.

“They just really want me to come up to the camp and see how I do,” he said of Notre Dame’s one-day camp on Thursday.

Bosch was at Notre Dame’s camp last summer, but worked out with the defensive linemen.

“I’m just excited to work with the coaches again and see what they think,” he said.

Bosch is especially excited to work with Irish offensive line coach Ed Warinner.

“It’s interesting to see which coaches like which type of skills,” he said. “Some coaches have different styles of pass blocking and run blocking. It’s interesting to see which ones relate to me the most and which ones I enjoy the most.”

Bosch feels like the Irish coaches have been hinting at an offer, but doesn’t want to get ahead of himself.

“I’m hoping that they do offer, but I’m not sure,” he said.

The camp circuit is almost over for Bosch now. After performing at Michigan State’s camp over the weekend, the Notre Dame camp will be the last one for the talented youngster.

Where Does ND Stand With 2013 OL?

Where Does ND Stand With 2013 OL?

Thursday, 14 July 2011

Trent Adams

Kyle Bosch is considered one of the top offensive lineman prospects in the 2013 class and he attended Notre Dame’s one-day camp in June with the hopes of earning an Irish offer.

The 6-foot-5, 280-pound lineman from Wheaton, Ill., (St. Francis) attended camps at Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan St. and Notre Dame last month. The St. Francis standout liked what he saw while at Notre Dame.

“I loved the campus and the coaches, plus I believe it was my best performance of any camp I’ve attended,” he said.

Despite the fact that Bosch felt he performed well at Notre Dameʼs camp, he did not receive an offer.

“I felt good coming out of camp that I had performed well enough to earn an offer, but the coaches said they were not going to offer right now, but they said I should expect an offer down the line,” he said.

Even though Bosch is very early in the process, he admitted not getting an offer was disappointing.

“I was very disappointed they didn’t offer, Notre Dame was my favorite team growing up and like I said earlier, I felt that I did what I needed to do to get an offer,” said Bosch.

Even with the coaching staff telling Bosch an offer would eventually come, he is not sure where he stands with Notre Dame.

“I canʼt say Iʼm not interested in Notre Dame because I am, but there was something offsetting about the way it happened and it could affect their chances,” said Bosch.

Bosch hopes to be done with the process early on so he can focus on the things he needs to before college.

“I want to have a decision by the end of my junior year, so I can only focus on the schools that have offered me,” he said. “I want to be able go through my senior season without any distractions, so I can just concentrate on football.”

Bosch said he would like to get out and see some gameday atmospheres this fall if he can.

“I donʼt have any visits set up yet, but I want to get out to Arizona, Indiana, Iowa, West Virginia and especially Michigan State,” he said. “I really like Michigan State, and my mom loves the coaching staff there, so I definitely want to get up there.”

So if Notre Dame were to offer, could that change things?

“I just donʼt know how to handle myself with Notre Dame going forward.”

Reading that article from two weeks ago, I'm not sure I like this kid's attitude.

I agree. I can understand him feeling that way, I guess, but his willingness to share those feelings publicly signals a lack of maturity. [Comment that will make me sound much older than I actually am:] this generation of kids doesn't seem to have any concept of playing it close to the vest, nor do they seem remotely conscious of how what they say reflects on them.

All of that aside, it seems like the kid can play. If the coaches come to the same conclusion they will offer him, at which point the kid will forget about being mad for not getting an offer earlier.

Wheaton (IL) St. Francis 4star OL Kyle Bosch has planned a trip to Stanford. Could visit Wisconsin or MSU this weekend.

Indeed. He's a solid prospect.

The one thing I don't like is that he pouted like a schoolgirl when we didn't offer him in June.

Well, people say stuff they don't mean sometimes when their feelings are hurt. Hounshell did bad mouth ND last year before getting the offer and then committed right away. They are kids after all. If we offer, we are at the top for sure.

Yeah, I'd still take him.

For sure. The kid has to realize that it is very early in the process, still. Most of the offers goes out after the season. He also has to be very encourage that coach Martin went out to visit him. All signs point towards an offer. I'll tell you what though, if we can score a Bosch and maybe another big name ( Pocic, or Raulerson) before the summer and with Elmer already in fold, I would take a hard look at Notre Dame if I were an elite RB or QB.

Surprised to hear he's still that high on ND after the pouting he did when they didn't offer at ND's summer camp.

I think a lot of it has to do with how we are sitting with Tulley and Pocic.

Really wish he was offered. ND fan and top 10 lineman/#55 overall player by 247 right now. Has offers from everywhere. Probably going to end up being this year's Joe Bolden.........

seems like we're being really picky with who we bring in along the O line...with one already committed and several elite guys with high interest we may not see many offers go out until spring time.

Give it time.

IIRC, this is a small class for 2013. I think 18 commits?

I think they're being very picky and hitting up their top tier guys early.

Ethan Pocic is their other big target this early in the cycle.

With that I would think IMO they go with:

1 QB
1 TE
3 OL
2 RB
3 WR
3 DB
2 DL
3 LB

=18

of course the picture will be better when the Spring comes around. That's just what I'm thinking their numbers will be like.

2 TE Eifert and Golic leave after 2012 season right.

At Alabama junior day today. Could've locked up this kid early but the longer he goes without an offer the less likely he is to come here. Don't get it.
