What's sad is your eye poking response to a guy that was trying to be helpful. jonesman tried to help a new guy. Everybody including, GITF, was helpful. jonesman didn't imply anything negative. Your inference speaks to yourself, not him. Who cares, besides you obviously, what "access" you have?

We realize you're knew here. But keep in mind most of the other posters aren't. What's a new topic to you has probably been discussed in detail already. Read, get caught up, ADD to the discussion.

IE sets up Profile's for each ND recruit to try and keep discussions in one place so NEW members can catch up. You'll also notice that there are forums set up for other topics. Again to make easier to find similar topics. You'll find a lot on Koyack in the Recruiting Forum AND in the Notre Dame Football Forum. There's also a SEARCH Function you can avail yourself of. BTW, you won't find much on Koyack in the Leprechaun Lounge where you started this thread.

BTW, you asked:

Then follow up with:

I'm sorry but aside from his HS football play as documented by those videos, his rankings by the recruiting services, his scholarship offers by coaches across the nation who make their living making such evaluations, and his play in an All-Star game against HS Elite PEERS what other parameters are we supposed to use to respond to your question?

That's like telling a college admissions officer to comment on a prospective student's ability to perfom academically in college without looking at a high school transcript, test scores, references, or an interview.

zsteele, meet BGIF.

If we were any normal D1 football team [as concerns tight ends], Koyack would start as a freshman. Astonishingly, he may sit out this season entirely [especially since we seem not to be taking a TE this recruiting round].

Z,
If you have seen the highlight, know how highly he is rated, saw the All-Star game in which he was playing and practicing against other big time talents, you know what we all know.

Your question made it sound like you were doubtful of his skills and whether he could be a major contributor.

I'm always skeptical of anyone coming into a prestigious program like ND and not being able to perform, def. not doubting sklls though, just curious. Do you think he'll see the field this year?

I just honestly wasn't sure and curious of others responses, I def have to play catch up though on our recruits, been a little busy in the outside world.

You have to realize that it is hard to follow someones tone here, to one person it may seem like advice or help, but you have to understand to another person it kinda comes of as smart elic.

Not being an overbearing person on reactions, I'm just very excited about the up and coming classes and praying we will dominate again very very soon.

zsteele15, it would be in your best interest to do a lot more reading and a lot less posting until you're up to speed on things.

Not trying to be an ***; honest advice.

It shows a general lack of respect for the board when you ask questions for which answers are easy to find (this thread), when you repeatedly refuse to address thoroughly and thoughtfully written posts directed at you (the Crist v. Rees debate), and when you post painfully oblivious crap.

So, I suggest that you simply read the posts here until you're more familiar with the board's culture, how posting works, and the general state of ND football. Your reputation will benefit.

If you don't have the time to read, don't waste our time by posting.

C-mon Whiskeyjack.. I hope I was not being disrespectful, I def wasn't trying to be. It seems like your tone and attituds towards me is simply trying to put me in my place which is not working, I'm very impressed with your overall knowledge towards ND and every single aspect that revlolves around, please stop being a douche about all of this. Did you not pick up in my earlier post that I was praising your guys posts. That they are insightful and informative, or were your responses just premeditated and meant to be negative toward me.

If you don't have time to educate yourself, don't waste our time by posting here.

So I guess BGIF is like the smartest kid with down syndrome.

BGIF is likely the smartest poster here, period. You're in no position to be calling anyone out. Most of us have been extremely patient with you thus far.

I just realized that you've listed Ty Willingham as your favorite coach. That alone should be enough to disqualify someone from posting on IE. Where is the banhammer?!

Maybe we can all stop pounding our chest and move on? Ben's going to be a stud. We haven't heard much about him this summer compared to the other kids in the class (Ishaq, Tuitt, Lynch, etc). He got a little defensive, asked a question that would have been best served elsewhere, life goes on.

Another enlightening IE thread.

Maybe when IE gets a naive-sounding question like this which, though we have discussed it to death, nevertheless is doubtlessly well-intentioned, someone should just say: "You might try this thread which is quite rich in information on this topic". If the person says "yeh I know all about that; I was just wondering if there was any news", we could say "No, we're waiting for camp to start", or "I saw him in the cafeteria the other day, and he ate the whole thing".

No matter how it's handled though, referring to BGIF as the smartest kid with Downs Syndrome is not the way to make friends. He's the smartest man; that's true. And he's earned it.

Steele, you use the word "lead" very loosely with Mr. Reese... Or wherever you copied that from...

Any one of us that watched those final 4 games saw that it was the defense that lead the team...

Don't get me wrong, Tommy did a fantastic job as a fill-in, but to say he "lead the Irish to a bowl win" well, it was GREAT defense that won those games.... and Mike Floyd, lol

You're right though, if he hadn't broken from from those tackles it definitly could have been a different game, and for the defenses overy dominant performance as well..

Sometimes I think I'm the only nice guy on this forum. :) But ZSteele, your thread here is a bit pointless. We know less about Ben than the coaches who offered him a scholarship. I would think that's proof of potential enough. The kid is 6'5"+ with great receiving ability and he's a tough blocker. Sounds like a great TE to me.

Also, I understand you don't want to be insulted on here (no one does), but when you get put down by the likes of BGIF, it's usually better to back down. Trust me, I learned the hard way.

Now it also seems that your thread has turned into a Rees/Crist debate. (?) Thank god it's in the Lep Lounge so technically you can talk about whatever, but it's still best to keep some sort of order in a thread.

Slow down on your posts brother. Post questions like this in the recruit's thread. And if you don't have any insight or intellectual conversation or questions, it's best you don't post (for the meantime at least) unless you really want the frequent posters on this site to godsmack you.

Good luck.
