Below is what was told to event staff for Michigan Stadium, the thread is here: http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/notes-t...ium-capacity-120000-keep-red-out-yellow-cards

Dave brandon showed up and says that every suite and club seat is sold out, there are not 2 seats.next to each other remaining for any home game this year, and that they could have sold 175,000 tickets to the Notre Dame game. He guarantees that it will be the highest attendance at the Big House in history. He says 115,000 and that the Stadium will be bursting with fans. Special things planned for each game planned already: There will be flyovers, "special flyovers", a parachuter, fireworks, a tribute to Desmond Howard, a tribu te to Lloyd Carr.

DB says night game is a test and it's for the fans and players. A bad experience would make this the only night game. Good experience = a night game per year.

Sounds like it will be a great time.

By bad experience do you mean Michigan getting waxed by Notre Dame because you don't have refs to bail you out like '09? Because if so looks like it'll be the only night game in the Big House... bummer :-/

Bitter much

Very. It's not every day you have a game taken from you because refs from Michigan decide to turn a blind eye to uppercuts, pass interference, etc. and then also call phantom penalties on your team.

But hey, that's ND's fault for being independent and continuing to schedule a school that once tried to get them kicked out of college football.

I am a ND fan through and through no doubt, as many know. But back in the late 90's, if I had to guess about 1999 or so. My brother went to Purdue and roomed with a backup OL. He said when they would play ND, they would be pretty dirty, they just did it under the pile. Gauging eyes, biting (not sure how that works), stiff arms, etc. Granted I know this happens alot in the pile but I think if the teams were flip flopped it wouldn't matter much to ND fans if they got away with things like that. Also, with the coverage as good as it is now compared to before. Everything can be seen.

With that said, I believe ND was screwed out of the 2009 team. But hey nothing anyone can do about it now.

How would he know what the Notre Dame players were doing if he was watching from the bench?

No idea, just thought I would share the story. But just like at any other university backups get in every once in awhile. I think he was pretty good but from what I can remember my brother said he had to stop playing due to concussions. So I don't know.

Also, I would assume players talk to one another even if he wasn't in the game.

The drunk idiots will make sure this is the only one. Especially after ND wins and they start breaking things.

I'm not sure how many of you have been to THE BIG HOUSE (it is BIG) but I once ventured far from my igloo to see them vs ND about 6 years back. We got spanked badly, it was the 38-3 (or whatever the score was as I've blocked it from memory) loss.

The Michigan fans really were pretty good, we chirped back and forth before and on the way into the game and then I shut up for the rest of the debacle. They were pretty good about it as they not only wanted a win, but a good game too. It was a one sided game and they were embarrassed for us. I'm hoping to make it to this night game and another road trip to Pitt too.

One tip though, should you go to the game, don't wear your "Anne Arbor is a whore!" t-shirt to a night game in enemy territory.

There are semi-crazed and/or frustrated animals who try to brutalize under the pile on every team according to my lineman brothers. As a coach you just hope that not many are on your team, or if they are they don't get caught at it. [with the headgear of today, most of the damage is by trying to twist ankles or damage fingers anyway --- lot more tame than in the days when they limed the fields]. {And another thing, unless you were completely insane like Conrad Dobler, "behavior" like that gets you "looked up" sooner or later. Dobler was so crazy though that the only "thing" who could bring him a little back to civilization was Dan Dierdorf, who had to play, in the pros, beside him. For that kindness at least, football owes thanks to Michigan}.

wow if this game couldn't get bigger.. these teams are going to be so hyped Michigan and ND... Denard denard denard he will be the key to michigan if we lock up recievers he will run.. i hope this yr Manti plants his face in the dirt, i want this win as bad as usc, and air force the game i'm going to..

my worry is how bad Michigan is wanting to win for desmond/carr etc., and ND thinking ahead of USF...
we should have won the last two times so i hope we win this one..

The same logic goes to michigan that goes for USF...if Notre Dame is going to a BCS then we need to kick the **** out of michigan. UM is not good. The defense will still suck, they will run the ball a lot more with their halfbacks (ND is supposedly good at shutting this down now), and they are going to require that denard makes more plays with his arm. So overall i can't help but see their offense regressing from last year.

45-17..and that's AFTER scum scores a junk TD

Not a bad summary here:
http://www.domerdomain.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30904

When ND football was trying to get off the ground, Michigan did everything in their power to be total dicks and undermine Notre Dame. This is why I favor us playing no Big Ten teams and ESPECIALLY not Michigan. They tried to keep us down for so long until we ended up being much bigger than their ****** conference... and now they want us to play nice and join. And because we don't their refs constantly screw us. **** them. Go Big East if you go anywhere.

Yup. I'm a firm believer that we shouldn't play any Big Ten school except maybe Purdue and Northwestern. In fact, my dream schedule would be something like:

Regional Games that Make Sense
Purdue
Northwestern

Hard Team in Hotbeds
USC
Miami
Pittsburgh

Tradition and/or Like Minded Schools
Boston College
Stanford
BYU
Army
Navy
Vanderbilt
Duke

This would give us two tough games, four could-be-tough games (Stanford, BYU, Pitt, BC), and six should-win games. This is on par or harder than Big XII/Big East/Big Ten schedules without playing any directional or FCS schools; and isn't murderer's row like our schedules in upcoming years.

Ehh that schedule is just way too easy..it may be awhile before USC and Miami develop into true powers again. Stanford without harbaugh and Luck might not field a top 25 team again for many many years. A schedule that soft will eventually hurt ND with BCS voters and recruits..and maybe even NBC.

I'd rather see them go 8-4 against killers in a given year than 11-1 against stiffs ( and then lose 52-0 to alabama in a BCS)

And dump Michigan and MSU for northwestern and vandy/duke over some civil war disputes?? Wake the **** up dudes!

How could it hurt us with voters? Even if it is that easy it is harder than most schools schedule's anymore plus there are no div II teams on it. Even if it was true we would still have a better strength of schedule.

Scheduling will be done [as far as the exact opponents are concerned, rather than, say, when on the schedule they arrive] on the basis of #1: traditional rivalries [only shucked under duress]; and #2: "strategy". "Strategy" includes a). ability to play two homes vs one away with some teams [or no aways at all], b). ability to play in major recruiting areas, c). ability to play a few marquee games for extra national attention.

Using those criteria, I'd be delighted with USC, Stanford, UofM , MSU, Purdue, BC, Pitt, Navy [in either Dallas or Houston], Miami, Western Michigan [all-the-time or two out of three in South Bend], and two other schools of the general caliber of Indiana [a weak major] and Northern Illinois [an all-the-time etc. at South Bend mid-major].

We would play in California, Florida and Texas regions, have a bunch of potential powers, maintain almost all traditions, and get the 6-5-1 or 7-4-1 home/away scheduling that Swarbrick wants. Two MACs plus Indiana and a weak one from Purdue/Navy/ X in any given year would mean we're not murdering ourselves every week.
