By and large, IU fans treat football (minus the Purdue game) like something to keep them occupied until basketball season.

If it was a Saturday in November and the football team was playing Ohio State at home and the basketball team was playing D-II University of Indianapolis at home, Assembly Hall would be packed to the rafters and Memorial Stadium would have 20,000...if that.

Football just isn't emphasized at IU. It probably never will be, as much as the administration wants it to be.

IU was really good in the 80's when they had Anthony Thompson, but yes, basketball will always be king in Bloomington.

48-64-1 during the 80's for Indiana football.

72nd out of 105 teams in terms of winning percentage.

Three winning seasons in the decade, including going 8-4 in 1987 and 8-3-1 in 1988.

They did go to 3 of their 9 bowls games ever in the 1980's.

This^^^ I think our class is looking pretty good.

I concur.
pulling in solid db and wr guys....high interest from lots of big time guys on both sides of the ball.
We're sitting pretty as can be in early July...an entire season away from NSD.

Like to place a bet?

You're sounding ignorant. Nowhere am I pretending that we are even in decent standing for this kid, but there was a time when people were writing off TJ Jones as a Georgia lock and then to Stanford. Crazier things have happened for us than eventually landing a stud quarterback who called of his commitment and asked for more time to assess his future. Didn't we all think Te'o was no doubt a Trojan on NSD?

Cali_Domer has been raggin' all day. He will feel better tomorrow, and be back to the fun-loving bloke we all know and love.

You will all think I am a mad scientist when this is done.

Haha, just a bit. I work from home and the damn air broke so I have been a bit more touchy to say the least. Throw in the crying 1 yr old and I was done. Haha.

I don't remember where I saw it but if I can find a link I'll post it but there's no way iu and Michigan are his final 2. He said it's been his "dream" to play at bama.

Committing to Alabama would be a smart move. He could save his arm all the wear and tear of a normal college QB career.

1st Down: Hand it off to set up a short yardage situation.
2nd down: Hand it off to keep the defense honest.
3rd down: Hand it off to win the feild position battle (no turnovers).

Repeat or punt. Roll Tide!

(Note: every so often air it out to your 5 star WR to keep southern talk radio football analysts off your back. If losing in the 4th quarter, consider throwing to one of your 1,000 other 4 star wide recievers; discover timing is off.)

Honest question. If his dream is to play at Alabama, and he's from Indiana, is it safe to assume he's a bit of a hick?

Never once did anyone read it was his dream to play for Alabama. Kid has been super quiet throughout this whole process.
