Was offered back in March, told 247 that ND has been keeping touch. Scout says Jelani Hamilton is visiting UF again and thinking about LSU, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame.

Do we really have a legitimate shot with this kid? Seems like the recruiting sites say so.

Crazy to think that we would pick up another top 10 defensive end.

Stacking them up.

^yup...that's how you build dynasties...keep them coming in every year....that's what makes it so tough because these elite players want to play NOW instead of sitting behind upperclassmen who are also elite.

Kids may look at it as competition, but they may also look at it as a chance to learn behind someone who is great while they're waiting their turn. Obviously, the competitor in them wants to get on the field, but if they don't, at least they're taken under the wing of an upperclassmen who knows the ropes and knows the position and can help them get better.

I feel our TE situation follows this process. Other schools have that luxury along the line and other positions. ND needs to become one of the schools that reloads, not rebuilds. You get to that level by consistently signing and developing RKGs for the respective system.

As long as this staff doesn't leave holes at any position (at this point, this is obviously not a problem) then I feel ND will be back to having that talent-filled roster and can reload every year.

It also seems like by building depth in the "Big Skill" category, we obtain guys that can transition into different positions. I wonder if this helps us with elite recruits. They can still say that they arent afraid of the competition, but they know in the back of their heads, that they wont sit the bench if they are beat out at one position in particular. This doesnt just stand for DE/OLB, but also seems to be the case with DB/WR, WR/RB, etc.

As would I. Hell of a school & we already have a few on our roster (Turk, Cowart off the top of my head). The talent that goes in and out of that place is unreal.

Wenger was from there too.

Chris Nee for Rivals:

"Hamilton does limited interviews. He was planning to take some summer trips including Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Miami, Florida State, and LSU. Recently said LSU, FSU, and Miami were recruiting him the hardest. "

ND had Giovanni Bernard I believe two years ago from Aquinas but I think late in the season he left and signed with UNC.
