Apparently though some think he's a good wideout, he's most likely a CB or Safety in college.

Also FSU isn't a lock for this kid either.

So add Stanford, USC, and Nebraska to that offer list

This is a kid that hasn't been talked about enough. Possibly because he has remained fairly quiet thus far, but he is a STUD! If we could add Blanks to Tee Shepard that would be amazing.

One of the most impressive offer lists I've seen for a prospect. Nice that he can play well on either side of the ball.

This player looks REALLY elite. Hope Notre Dame's great educational trump card and Staff Kelly's infectious "winner" optimism and professionalism can convince this young man that Notre Dame is an unparalleled opportunity.

Glad I reminded you all of this oustanding young man! I'd love to see him play safety for us.

I interviewed Travis Blanks this weekend, and was completely impressed. He was just as excited about being in the National Honor Society as he was about making plays. He is a great young man.

Under what pretext, if you don't mind my asking.

:worship2::rolleyes:

This kid looks incredible, but his off the field attitude is what really turns me on.

That's what I was intrigued by as well. I'd like to see this kid on the field for the Irish. He seems more into academics that just the " Oh yea, akademicks r real important 2" answer you normally get from recruits. I like the way this staff is able to find elite student athletes.

It seems to be the trend, I'm excited about it too. Gehrig Dieter was the same way when I talked to him, just a real community minded young man. I will keep you posted. But it is a trend that I really enjoy. Your dead on right about these guys not having the cookie cutter answers, they seem genuinely involved in their future other than football.

Thanks BeauBenken, I don't write anything about a guy based on other peoples reviews. I watch all the film before I make any observations. I also scouted Justice Hayes in person this past season before he got hurt and was not sad to see him go to Michigan. Thanks again for the complement.

ISD has a nice premium article on Banks. He claims his interest in ND is very genuine and he hopes to visit eventually. It will most like come on an OV because of the distance factor but he is certain he wants to visit.

Kid is a stud.

I'm disappointed we haven't got more news about this kid. He is most definitely a stud.

ESPN article on Blanks being MVP of FSU's Nike Camp:

Travis Blanks (Tallahassee, Fla./North Florida Christian) was not going to be denied in his home.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound defensive back stifled every competitor he faced in Sunday's Nike NFTC camp at Florida State University. And when the dust settled, he picked up the defensive backs MVP trophy -- an honor he thought he deserved a couple of days ago at the Athens NFTC.

"I was definitely going for both of them but I'm not sure what happened in Athens, I think they didn't want to honor the Florida boys," Blanks joked. "That's what it was. But I'd rather win it here in my hometown because these are my people. Up there in Georgia no one knows who I am."

Well, not exactly. The University of Georgia definitely knows Blanks as he's been on the campus a couple of times and has an offer from the Bulldogs. He also has offers from Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Florida State, Florida, Clemson, Ohio State, West Virginia and virtually every other major program in the nation.

"I've been to Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Louisville and USF," Blanks said. "I really don't have a leader right now, I'm analyzing and researching several different programs. I'm going to try to look at everything and find the programs I feel comfortable at. That's the first step because you can't play your best if you aren't comfortable. And after that I'm looking for a fair opportunity to contribute to the team."

Blanks was definitely comfortable on the FSU intramural football fields and even took the time out to do a little dance after an interception in 7-on-7 competition.

"That was just something the DBs came up with to have some fun," said Blanks.

During the individual drills he matched up against fellow Watch List prospect Marcus Maye (Melbourne, Fla./Holy Trinity Episcopal) and in the 7-on-7s they proved to be just as tough on the receivers as they were on each other.

"Marcus is a cool dude, a real humble guy and we clicked like that," Blanks said. "My school played his in the playoffs when we were freshmen and I've known him since."

Now Blanks will prepare for spring football, which begins in two weeks and he'll surely be the center of attention to coaches and scouts that come through the state capital. After that it's up in the air.

"I'll plan my summer as I go, I don't have anything set in stone yet," Blanks said

:( I don't get that OSU could slip on there and not us. I would imagine all the allegations would be killing them.

Just with USC and their slew of problems, it's mind boggling how their recruiting is almost unaffected.

With Ohio State, I think many recruits feel that because Tressel would rather get in trouble with the NCAA and rat out his players, they feel he has their back no matter what. In my opinion, his wanting of another national championship run and being cognizant of how much it would negatively effect his recruiting is what convinced him to lie to the NCAA. The penalties won't be that harsh, sadly (in my opinion), and recruiting won't really be affected.
