I applaud Alford for his humbleness and heroic effort, and I pray for the girl's family. I pray Alford gets over this as well.

Sad story indeed, any one would have done what alford did...if they didnt then they have serious mental problems. Im glad to see he is going to keep in touch with the family and try to help them out....that most people wouldnt do. Stories like this help you how fragile life is

God bless you, coach .... a coach with a big heart at a school with a big heart. No wonder he is so authentic and likable on the recruiting trail.

I lived in Gulf Gate twenty-five years ago when I lived in Sarasota. I know right where this happened . . . I also have been first on the scene . . . but the thing I found most tragic was that the man who struck her, stated he lost a child in an MVA, can you imagine?

This is so sad and very tragic. I'm proud of Coach Alford and what he is doing. I know how hard it is but he is doing what he can. It is not easy being the first on scene to a tragic accident, let alone a child. My thoughts go out the the child's family and to coach.
