Obviously we will take DGB whenever if he wants to come (maybe a couple other guys would also force us to take 4 WRs like Jordan Payton or Cayleb Jones)...but I do not think we even offer Greenberry if our lead holds true with Darboh, Ferguson, and Treggs.

Maybe, but it's a complicated situation with Greenberry's relationship to Tee Shephard. Greenberry is a very talented kid in his own right and there seemed to be a lot of people who thought he would get an offer in person at ND... but then he didn't make the visit so I'm not sure how much truth there was in that.

Well I agree....cannot upset Tee whatever we do. If the WR recruiting drags on then anything can happen, but if Treggs pops because we are way out in front according to everyone (instead of waiting like he says he wants to do), Ferguson commits in less than 2 weeks on May 2nd, and Darboh follows before the summer then I am not so sure we get involved with more prospects unless the player is an absolute blue chipper. Too many other positions we need spots for....

Ferguson is from my home town and from what I hear he's more than talented, and very open with the people there about how high he is on ND.

Hearing he is announcing on Monday for ND. Not the fastest guy, but watching his film he looks very physical with good hands. Adjusts well to a lot of poorly thrown balls. Seems like the kind of guy that with some polish could be a serious player.

I have Michael Floyd comparisons, without the absolute elite downfield ballskills (but seriously, who else has his?). Sign me up.

Justin Blackmon, Alshon Jeffery.

But yes, I see some Michael Floyd in Ferguson. He could be an excellent possession WR.

Ferguson is a stud. I am hoping he pulls for ND, and I think we're probably ahead

It's kind of odd that he doesn't have a ton of offers, but if UF, FSU, and mainly Brian Kelly think he's the real deal, I believe it. Looks good on film!

He also has a Miami and Wisconsin offer per Scout. My thoughts on this are pretty simple: when the big Florida schools get in on 'very good' but not 'super elite' prospect other schools don't bother wasting their time with an offer/recruiting him hard. It's pretty clear that it's going to be darn near impossible to crack his top 3.

Similar logic applies to Mauk, but that's for another thread.

He says that he MAY postpone his decision based on how he is feeling. That won't be good for ND or Florida if he decides to hold off because they say there may be other suitors who jumped in late. ---this coming from ESPN

They article ESPN is quoting when they say he may be postponing was from April 20th. There has been no indication in the meantime that he would push back his announcement. If he does indeed announce tomorrow, as most expect, it would be a shock if it wasn't ND.

From everything Im hearing, the decision date is still May 2nd. The decision should take place tomorrow. If he does pick ND, this is a kid that I would be suprised if his recruitment got interesting down the stretch. That is in no way a cheap shot at Justin, I just think as his stock rises and his options open up, it could get interesting. Florida recruiting usually is a rollercoaster for ND.

Fair assessment... it's good to know we have multiple plan Bs this year. Darboh, Greenberry, Carroo (haven't even offered him yet...), Treggs, etc.

Got a message on twitter about an hour ago saying that Ferguson is definitely announcing tomorrow between the Irish and the gaytors.

Whoever he picks, there is sure to be more suitors jumping in this race during the next 9 months

Au contraire, I'm of the personal opinion that the only reason this kid doesn't have more offers is that people basically figure he's a lock for a Florida school or ND. So I think it might be a long saga... but it'll probably be a battle between the guys he already has offers from (i.e. ND, UF, FSU and Miami).

scout confirmed it, announcing tomorrow.

Scouts Free article:

The second part of Justin Ferguson’s journey to become a college football player is set to play out on Monday.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound wide receiver from Pembroke Pines (FL) Flanagan High School has narrowed his list down to two programs he feels can give him the tools needed for success.

Florida caught Ferguson’s eye following a Junior Day visit as he was impressed with the Gators facilities, campus and education system.

Notre Dame saw Ferguson visit during their spring game in mid April and that impression pushed up his timeline to make a decision.

Justin told Irish Eyes following his visit he had set a timeline to make his commitment sometime between November and January. However, following the visit he seemed ready to move things up.

“Because of my visit, I am thinking about committing early, like real soon. However, I want to make sure about the feelings I am having and know my decision is not being based on just the hype from being there. So I want to see how I feel next week and if I still have the same feelings. If I do, I will think about committing.”

That was Justin on April 17, as Justin stressed Notre Dame had moved to the top of his list.

While many feel strongly Justin is ready to pledge to the Irish, one never knows until the announcement is made.

Justin confirmed with Irish Eyes by text message he still plans on making his decision known on Monday.

Irish fans will learn if Notre Dame will be Justin Ferguson’s next stop.

Do we really want this guy or hold out for better recruits when we roll off ten wins? He's only a 3 star... Anyone know anything on him?

Any bloke could have tweeted that for the past 3 days. It's been posted numerous places that he is basically a lock. But who knows... things change on a dime.

To the guy asking "do we really want this kid?" he has offers from Florida, FSU, Miami and every other Florida school... but only recently started getting out of state offers (Wisconsin). Translation? Everyone in Florida knows that he is legit and he is likely to get put on the national map sooner rather than later. He isn't a burner but seems to be a tough, physical receiver with a good set of hands and shows great ball skills on some awful balls thrown by his HS QB. So yes, we definitely want him... as well as at least two more guys.

Yeah that's pretty shady of him to do that...wants to be the first guy to know everything and tell everyone. A big announcement for this young kid that is special to him and he took some of that away.

However if it's true then congrats Justin. Ecstatic to have you on the team after hearing all the good things about you!!

I'm not going to be upset if he doesn't take us... Scout has his as a 3*, with a 4'5" 40. @ 6'2"

Espn's 'camp results' have him clocked at a 4.99 forty and 6'.

I don't think either forty is accurate, but I bet it's closer to a 4.99 than a 4.5

We're going to have a 10-win season. If the espn camp results are accurate, I say we can afford to hold out for better recruits, IMO.
