Darn tootin', consarnit! Hot dang, I'm here to burn things up!

I thank you for your support ... I think.

As I recall, at that point in time ... oh, never mind.

SirDic*hands, I looked up my "reps given" and sure enough I repped you for a damn azz funny comment you made, then repped the Wooly Bully for his retort. Butt, the posts are gone.

Oh yeah. Back to topic.

Rachel McAdams or Anne Hathaway?

IMO, harder question than Kiel vs. Mauk.

Then you can understand my heartbreak when my Rachel McAdams/Anne Hathaway look- alike told me she was engaged and moving out. I told her "Hey, I just saw this movie and...", she cut me off and said "I know, I know. I hear it all the time. Anne Hathaway and Rachel McaDams." I faked a smile and told her I was happy for her. I then stalked her boyfriend, found out where he lives, his ss number, his parents' address and etc.. when they were moving out. Wait. Did I just type that out loud?

Oh yeah, back on topic.

Rachel McAdams or Kate Beckinsale?

What's football?

Funny and true story. Not too far out of college, I was offensive coordinator for a varsity high school team. I was in the press box talking to the head coach on the headset. Coach said "O.K. 2nd and 5 on the 30. What's next?" I said "Slot left, holy **** coach, look up at the pressbox! See that girl with the pink top walking up right at me?" He said "Wow, this town has some nice looking ladies heheheehe." I think I called trips right, flood, Z hook. Can't remember how the play worked out, but the girl in pink was carrying popcorn and a soda, wearing gladiator sandals and daisy dukes. With a pink top.

I guess either or both Kiel or Mauk would...what were we talking about?

I don't care where either QB is ranked as long as BK thinks he can win championships with them.

If Kelly thought that he could win a championship with me as QB, would you want him to recruit me as hard as Kiel?

I get your point, and I will root for any recruit that come to ND, but I just dont see Mauk as an impact kinda guy. Recruits end up better or worse then their rankings every year. I just see Kiel as someone as close to "can't miss" as any recruit can be. I see Mauk's potential slightly higher than Miles or Morin, which I don't see being any better than Hendrix/Golson. So in conclusion, that leads me to want the staff to throw in all of their QB chips in for Kiel.

You can milk anything with nipples... ya know..

The staff will and is exploring all of their options, and I do mean all. In addition to the QB's you mentioned, I know the staff has also visited QBs Chad Kelly from NY and Patten Robinette from TN. Your line of thinking, IMO, is what really hindered Weis from achieving much more on the recruiting trail. "Throwing all your chips" at the top ranked prospect at each position sounds great, and excites fans to see that "we are in it" with the big names. But if and when (it was usually when) Weis wound up whiffing on the big name, we were left with no real backup plan, and either took a lesser prospect than we should have or got none at all, both of which attributed to our depth issues which BK is working tirelessly to resolve.

I love Kiel, and would absolutely love to have him at ND. But I do not want to be left out in the wind if he does not choose to come to ND. I know you think Morin is a sure thing as a backup plan, but we have thought the same of other prospects and it has turned out not to be true. Plus, you don't know the effect that only chasing Kiel will have on the kid...he could very well move on himself and commit to a school he truly likes and be true to his word. This isn't even so much of a Mauk v. Kiel debate for me, because I honestly don't really care which one we take, so long as we get a good QB that the staff feels strongly for in each class. Depth and development are what this program is going to be built on if we are going to truly return to a championship level, not star chasing - even if it does net us a Clausen or Kiel every so often.

and her friend was wearing a light blue tank top with curled up white denim shorts. Beautiful tan. Also with gladiator sandals.

We were stunned by midseason, after having lost our "top 2" quarterbacks, that our number 5 and smallest QB led us to 5 wins in row.

I'll take either, or both. In the end the defense is whats going to take us to the promised land.

I'm 29, does that make me old or young... I feel old. :geeza2:

'Tis clearly a matter of perspective, m'lad. To a three year old you're an ancient. To a geezer such as me you're a spring chicken – and an even a younger chicken (a yet-to-be-hatched egg, perhaps) to the likes of Old Man Mike.

What post of mine was deleted? Maybe something got messed up when some of the thread was transfered from the Maty Mauk thread.

I'm almost 29. The way I see it, you can start feeling old when you are 30. Until then, you are just indulging.

This is where I think people are disconnecting with me. I too, do not want to be left hanging without a good qb recruit either. That wont be the case though. See, if we went all in with Kiel and missed, we would still get a good recruit. I think Mauk is only marginally better than Morin or Cyler. Morin is a HUGE ND fan and desperately wants to come to ND. He is going to camp this summer to try to get an offer and doesnt care one bit who the other QB's are. In my eyes:

Missing on Kiel and taking Morin > Hitting on Mauk and missing on Kiel.

We wont be left out in the cold either way, so why risk losing a homerun recruit like Kiel to secure a player that is only marginally better than our "worst case scenario"?

Rees is undefeated. Sometimes a TEAM will rally. Good example is when my team rallied around our #5 converted QB. He went undefeated. Who knows?

Pigtown, I hear you guys have some stormy weather over there. Just spoke to a cousin from Balmore. In a football non macho related question mode: Do you like gladiator sandals?

Dayum those things are sexy.

Wooly: actually to your earlier statement, YES, I would have Kelly happily recruit you if he thought he could win a championship with you at QB. It would mean that he knew more about QBing than you even knew about yourself, but, that's prob.....well, I won't go there.

And: I never felt old even at my 60th birthday...but 70 was different. No more fantasizing when that one rolls along.

And Neutered: remember that Song Girl Monday has most of its back posts still available for you to scratch your horns on.

My next post was to axe you to the post to the site I had never heard about twixt you mentioned it. I still think one of my ladies gave in to your flirtations last year. Cork Soaker. I now like, and rely on (did I just type that out loud?) the "Song Girl Monday" site (that I had NEVER herd bout afore'n you mentioned it...) because of the really good articles. Same with Penthouse.

Sorry, but how is Mauk only marginally better than Morin??? C'mon man, when you say things like that it shows your complete bias against Mauk. It's like me saying that Kiel is only marginally better than Cyler. It's ridiculous. Morin has exactly zero offers. The old staff at Colorado offered him, but the new staff made it clear he doesn't have an offer. Mauk has several offers including Missouri (Look at how their last 2 QBs have fared and they are about to have a top 10 QB drafted - they know QBs) Notre Dame (enough said), and Michigan (also a very good QB school). And from what I've read he'd get more offers but teams know they won't have a shot with him. I mean, it's not even close.

Now, Morin is the heating up and his love for ND makes him attractive, but don't let that cloud you on the difference between he and Mauk. The latest eval I read on Morin is that he has good accuracy and a nice release, but he doesn't have great arm strength and he isn't the athlete that Mauk is. At this point, there is no way you can say Mauk is only 'marginally better.'

That's why I always say that its "my opinion", you dont have to agree with it, but it is how I feel. I personally dont think that Mauk is drastically better than any of our lesser options. I feel especially strong about the skill difference between Mauk and Kiel. I'm not denying that I have a bias against Mauk, but I have done a lot of research on him that created this bias. Time will tell if I am right or wrong about Mauk.

For the record, I am not saying that I think Morin or Cyler would be impact players ever at ND. I'm just saying that I don't think Mauk will be either.

edit** - For the record, if Mauk ends up Irish, then I sincerely hope that I am wrong and will be rooting for him to succeed.

Dayum. You guys are too much recruit "educated". I spoke to my father and mentioned info I had read on the web, and he axed me what the hell was I reading and why did I know so much about trivial unscientific info. He is a slightly mean and angry genius, and I didn't have the heart nor testicles to tell him I was currently a gimp and reading websites.

He would probably drive the 1000 miles to finish me off.

My sister is a huge ND secret fan. I trust she would chop block him. For fun.

Kinda like Wooly the Bully or K1issme. They both might kick my pooper, but I doubt it. Cuz I'm badass.

Isn't that the same stuff the said about Tom Brady? :p Juuussst sayin'. And maybe when he says "marginally better" he's referring to one big stinkin' margin? haha
