Goes to the same high school (Billy Ryan High School) as other 2012 ND targets Jordan Richmond and Alex De La Torre. Diaco and Cooks were there a couple weeks ago.

Promising quote from their coach:

“I know this, if they offered me one, I’d go to Notre Dame,” Florence said. “I grew up with Parseghian and Devine and all of those guys. I watched ‘Rudy’, that was my favorite show.”

Mario is the most highly recruited of the 3 so far.

One of the best players in the country. If he is not the best DE in the country, he is top three. Not good to see Florida State continue to roll. Jimbo is doing very big things right now.

Kid must not be afraid of competition either if he's willing to face up to what FSU has brought in. I worry a little bit about that in our case [Lynch, Tuitt, Councell, IWilliams, Rabasa, Niklaus...and Shembo, Moore, Schwenke= near-rookies themselves --- man, that's a lot of young guns to be staring down at either OLB or DE]. Would have been nice to get someone who wasn't afraid of that.

He didn't have a shabby year last year. I agree he still has a lot to prove but he has certainly hit the ground running. He owned the state of Florida last year, on and off the field. Anytime you can say that, your doing something right.
