Exactly. In fact, Badger will be an old man...

He will be older and more mature.

Big question is how long will it take for him to get back into shape. A mission is a full time commitment 24/7. He doesn't get to go to Gold's Gym at night to catch up on Longo's workouts. His workday is still probably strenous than most of ours but we aren't going to be playing Div 1 football.

Back to Collingsworth.

Was listed at 6-0 178 when recruited. Listed by ND this past season at 6-1 195. About the same size Jeff Burris when he played for ND. Another former RB.

Rivals, Scout, and ESPN all had Collingsworth pegged for a Safety in Div 1.

Tough kid. For those that don't remember he broke his thumb midway through his senior season. In his state championship game he rebroke the thumb but still had 25 carries for 175 yds and a couple or 3 TDs. He had surgery on the thumb after his HS ball was done.

Hoping he's Cody Grimm #2. I played lax against Cody in HS for years... never an elite athlete... was way slower than I was on the field and wasn't considered a serious S prospect for college football but he was always a very smart player. Was a 0* prospect with no offers and had to walk on to Virginia Tech. Great fundamentals and work ethic in everything he did and his father, Russ Grimm, is an NFL Hall of Famer.

Gets to VT works his butt of becomes a 2 year starter. Drafted in the last round of the NFL draft by the Bucs because scouts said he wasn't "athletic enough." Ends up being a starter as a rookie and having a great year before getting injured because he had a good head and nose for the ball.

I would not be shocked if in 2012-13 we see Collinsworth logging some serious PT. He might not be the most athletically gifted athlete on the team but you can tell from special teams that he has a nose for the football. I'd rather have someone reading plays and making sure tackles than Zeke Motta running around like an uncontrolled ball of energy making a great play 50% of the time and taking a bad angle and whiffing the other half of the time.

...yup, the kid is just going to be a sure hand...he's shown the big stage, and things moving at game speed don't rattle his focus or fundamentals...

Was impressed with him, great effort, really delivered when tackling. Look forward to seeing how his transition turns out.

If he plays as hard as he does on the ND special teams he will be fun to watch.
