The Ref's in the Michigan Game

I don't like to put this blame on and I give Michigan credit; Tate Forcier is going to be a good quarterback and one that I will not like to see in the next 3 years. That being said I thought the ref's did poor officiating. For example, when Armando Allen scored his 2-pt. conversion he was called for unsportsman like conduct, however when Michigan scored the last touchdown the Michigan wide receiver started to celebrate, but the referee stopped him. The corner back for Michigan, #33 is the cockiest SOB, and he got a way w/ a few calls. I know there are games where players "get away w/ a few calls", but Cissoko got away w/ some plays. Oh well, it's time to move on and worry about Michigan State; since they are going to want to take their loss out on us.

earlier in the game, floyd was pushed back down by the michigan corner with the ref right there and nothing was called. the players had been jawing back and forth all day and nothing was done about it.

Cissoko shoved him down. What a douchebag. Floyd and Tate torched him all game.

1. BS overturned call on the forgotten Allen screen TD.
2. Another BS call on the 72 yard Rudolph play.
3. A ton of missed pass interference calls.

This is one time I will say this and really dont care what mich people or anyone else says about excuses. We got beat, they played a near perfect game and got some breaks so hats off. But that was without a doubt from my perspective watching it on TV one of the worst officiating jobs I've seen in a long long time. I would really like to hear from anyone that was there (from either team) on what they saw.

Michigan beat us. We had every opportunity to close the game. This is not on the referees. This loss is squarely on the players. We got beat plain and simple

I'm with you on the we got beat slant. I accept that and it does fall on the D. I'm just saying from my point of view the officiating looked about as bad as I've seen and at very pivotal times. No excuses - I still think they win 10 games.

Our defense was shredded. Charlie Weis made some bad calls.

But the officiating might have been the key to our loss.

Jonesman is usually a good barometer for being reasonable. IF he said it sucked it did and yes it did cost us the game. We must have had 200 yards of positive yardage replaced with 75 yards of penalties (many that were overcome) but overturning the AA TD was rephuckingdickulous. The only solace this day migh have is if OSU hangs on to guess what "Beatsc"! Yes I know I mispelled that long word.

Allen got called for a celebration penalty on the Irish's final touchdown by putting his finger to his lips to shush the crowd.

Taunting, not saying it should of been called but there was the reason, I assume.

Had a friend whos a mich fan text me to talk shit after the game. I responded with the refs were shit and named three specific ways they screwed us (AA TD, Holding calls, Time expiring).

He responded "those were holds, they did good. they screwed us as much as you."

My response "Ha yea ok name your favorite bullshit call that went against michigan...."

His reponse "I cant remember. There was one though i remember that."

and then i quit responding to him. they cant even fake a bad call their way.

First off, calling back the AA TD was absolutely CRIMINAL. The call on the field was a TD and there was ABSOLUTELY NO WAY IN HELL there was enough evidence to overturn that call.

Secondly, The 72 yard return from Rudolph was just flat out ridiculous. That was a pancake block to the perfection, and to call that a hold is just PISS POOR!!!

The pass interfernce non calls all day were terrible, and on top of that, i saw at least three times that UM DB's pushed and shoved extremely late, with one coming less than 1 foot away from a REF while Floyd was trying to get up from the ground.

While i do agree that we LOST the game within the final 3 mins, the fact of these first two palys alone are at a minimun 10 point swing, with quite possibly more, considering the swing in momentum after the AA TD was called back and then UM holding us to a FG. The return may not have happen with that momentum shift, but then again even if it does, the 4 points returned on the scoreboard is the diffenrence in the game, or at least overtime.

Im actually wondering if the REF's had the same angle on the AA return that we as the FANS had. The first replay did look a bit fishy as it did look like he stepped out of bounds, but the close up angle down the sideline shos WITHOUT a DOUBT that he was in by at least an inch.

And whats funny about the holding calls was the annoucers talking about how supposedly the ref's are going to make the holding calls much much more this year.... Ok well where in the hell were they from the UM side?

We got away with one from Rudolph on the play that Allen got hurt, but cmon, that noncall doenst compair with us losing 4 points and over 100 yards.

The Rudolph call back was absolutely pivital too. We have to punt there instead of have a 1st down inside the 20.

GOD THIS ONE HURTS!!!

In their defense, it should have been a 73 yard drive because the taunting penalty against Allen should have never been called. Lots of things lost the game, but the officiating was a significant part of that. The game should not have been so close that officiating was a deciding factor. Unfortunately it was. We will either grow from this, or we will let it take the wind out of our sails... in which case we're in for a long year.

Jonesman thanks for having the balls to put that up, I didnt want to sound like a whiner. Breaks happen-kickoff run back-bounce here or there, mich played close to the best they got. The officials seemed to me to have an edge on for ND. Youngs pancake block was not a hold and you do not call that screen TD back. That is not undisbutable evidence- how do those guys go home at night and sleep knowing they made a call like that. Even down to looking to see AA put his finger to his mouth is just silly. It makes those guys look petty unless the NCAA says no putting your finger to your mouth. If they did that bull$^#@ on their own as interpretation then that says it all.

Pass interferance misses were unacceptable. It was the only way UM D-backs could compete and the Ref's let them get away with it. And it was going on way before JC even threw the ball half the time.
