It seems really odd to me that ND hasn't offered him. From what I've read, he sounds awesome. An Indiana kid, 4-stars across the board and sounds like a leader. What's the hang up?
I certainly see your point, but there lies the rub of the situation. Do you offer these 'depth players' (and in no way am I saying Remound or Gehrig Dieter would fit this category) from Indiana who would commit that instant as opposed to holding out for top national talent, who this staff obviously has the ability to bring in?
I don't view this as a snub of Indiana prep talent. Rather, it looks like it just wasn't a fit this year. Notre Dame has a good track record of going after the best Indiana has to offer. This single situation should have no future impact on recruiting the top in-state talent. Purdue and IU are regional/in-state universities. Notre Dame is a national brand.
ND usually never accepts Indiana people.
Braxston Cave?

Jeff Samardzija? Pat Kuntz? James Aldridge? Luke Schmidt? John Goodman? Zach Martin? Tyler Eiffert? Daniel Smith? Nick Martin? Tony Springmann?

He's a very talented back, but IMO he isn't a jaw-dropping talent. He will undoubtedly be the kid, that in three years, will have Tom Hammond saying, "...and there goes Wright a kid from ND's own backyard who is having a career game here in Notre Dame Stadium. He told us growing up that blah blah blah blah."
He'll be good, but I'm sure the 2012 crop has a few studs who we will put on the full court press for. This year we needed DE/OLBs and we made that priority 1 and we got them. Next year, who's to say we won't accrue similar talent at the RB position. I've got faith in our staff.
