Well I'll thank him for getting Ishaq and Beast in class - tough to lose him, but thanks to his recruiting, we have plenty of depth (yes I know Ishaq isn't a DE)

This blows but not that surprised. How committed can you be when you're still taking visits. I think he's still a good kid, wish him the best.

Anybody else notice how quickly ESPN posts when someone de-commits from Notre Dame but seem to take their time when someone commits to Notre Dame? Probably just imagining it....

Him choosing GT is comical. I'll be watching his career closely over the next 4-5 years. It sucks thinking about what could have been but I have a feeling that he'll be thinking the same thing a couple years from now.

Hopefully, we can find someone to replace him in the 2012 recruiting class.

This is a tough loss no doubt. But, I truly believe that this staff has the capacity of taking guys like Springmann, Carrico, or Hounshell and turning them into 5 stars talent. The raw material is there for these guys, it just need a little tweaking.

Good luck to him. I bet he will regret his decision in years rather than decades.

Hounshell is what? 6'6 and will be ~285lbs? Obviously he won't be a stud the moment he steps on campus like Tuitt will be, but if I'm going to lose either Tuitt or Lynch, I'd rather it be Tuitt. He is a run-stopping DE, and in my opinion it's easier to get Hounshell to bulk up and be nasty in the interior than it is to get someone as athletic as Lynch to torment a quarterback every snap.

That's my spin and I'm sticking to it! :(

He's going to be keyed on by every team an fightin through double and triple teams his college career. Refuardless I wish him the best but with floridastategetting better and other acc teams I don't see much of a chance at gt competing. Playing in front of family and with friends means more to some than others. Good luck young man you will be missed here

....What does that even mean?

He would never face a double team at ND?

can someone help me out with that rkg means? thanks in advance.

RKG is a stupid phrase that Kelly even stopped using because of how lame it sounds when people use it as a way of justifying a low rated prospect or degrading a highly rated player who did not select ND

What the heck this is not what I was expecting to see after work? Has anyone heard anything from him about why he flipped. I wasn't worried about losing him even with the 2 visits. WOW. Best of luck to him though.

A coupll things.

1. Hounshell and Niklas have been recruited hard for months. Their decisions or recruitment have nothing to do with Tuitts decision

2. ND runs a 3-4, the pass rushers are the OLB's, saying Lynch is more needed because he is a pass rushing DE is like saying a Safety is more needed because he is a run stuffer.

Darn it also but lets keep our poise hear and give him the respect he deserves. Maybe he will reconsider. What a unit Notre Dame could have with guys that are already coming and this stud.
