Very Interesting. Regardless, I still give the kid credit for sitting back and thinking about it. BK & company will take care of this. Don't know what GT can offer that ND cannot besides location.

In Kelly I trust.

We need to trust the staff! They have already gone to the necessary lengths for the necessary players. Tuitt DID NOT commit while at GT. You know what that means? BK and staff will be in his ear asap scrubbing the luster off this visit. If Diaco was at Ishaq's house at 4:30 am locking him up while he was literally on his way to PSU... then I'm not worried about them sealing up a kid thats ALREADY committed and LOVES ND!! Have faith brothers.. Tuitt IS Irish.

Well put. He's Irish...

GT is smart the way they are trying to land him but I don't think he will flip. He put too much effort into getting the AAAB trio together to defect now... but I'm sure the GT staff pulled out all of the stops for him on the visit in addition to signing his teammate to work the personal/peer pressure angle. You also have to imagine most kids he runs into at school on a daily basis are in his ear about GT as well.

If I were a betting man I'd put my money on him staying Irish, however, in the age of bag men and other recruiting craziness, anything can happen.

Tuitt expects to have more answers "in a few days" after going over final decision.

Before his visit Tuitt mentioned that the school would have to offer double what ND did. If GT would've offered double over the weekend I think Tuitt would've switch his committment over the weekend. I don't see Tuitt going anywhere but ND, I will trust the staff, and I'd bet that Lynch and Williams could also be reminding him of what they can do at ND for the next 4-5 years. Can't wait to see Tuitt in a ND uniform!!

I bet those two remind him that he was part of the reason why they chose to come to ND. BK will seal the deal when he goes for an in-home visit, whenever that will be. Don't forget about the US vs. the World game to be played with future Irish players on his team.

Can GT guarantee you a trip to Ireland to play Navy? Hah.. anyway, I'm not worried about him wavering to GT.

After Tuitt got a taste of playing with Lynch and Ishaq, I highly doubt he throws it all away to go to Tech. Not worried one bit!! Go Irish!

From IrishFan33 on DD when asked if he heard anything about Tuitt

I was very very nervous about Tuitt last week and going into this weekend...
Rabasa spoke to Lynch about it and he said Tuitt will be going to ND...

I assume that Rabasa spoke to Tuitt after the GT visit?? I also hope that Coach Kelly uses his in home visit.

With this class and with this coaching, we can survive almost anything. But the Big Man is the power that will make the way easier. Kelly will do everything he's allowed to [and Diaco must be awfully last-minute-effective,too ] to convince Stephon to stay the course. Any deviation will be the biggest recruiting stunner [on a downside] for me all season.

Well it looks like he was swaying and it does happen. I have a lot of faith in this staff and administration.

Tuitt is very quiet. He will go home and discuss things just like he did after Auburn. In a few days we will likely know for sure where he stands at this point. Kelly still has his in-home visit with Tuitt and the staff likely have been in contact already. Tuitt will also be playing in the US vs the World bowl along Hegarty and the Atkinson bros. I ythink we are ok at this point, but you never know

Take it fwiw, but this morning on Rivals Radio Pete Sampson said that the junior de and teammate of Stephon's said Tuitt is and will be Irish. Sampson also said he personally believes Tuitt stays Irish.

It's not too hard to sway that lean with SERIOUS NCAA sanctions.

AKA SMU death penalty.

Wait, didn't Auburn just suffer one not too long ago? lol.

Pete Sampson is very conservative with his comments. He's usually dead on. I tend to side with his opinions of things.

And since Terry's usually right on and I usually side with his opinions.....I now side with Sampson's opinion.

From AJC:

Stephon Tuitt has gone underground. The four-star defensive end from Monroe Area hasn’t been heard from since his official visit to Georgia Tech this past weekend. Tuitt (6-5, 260) is committed to Notre Dame but decided to take one last trip to The Flats to make certain of his choice. Apparently it has only confused him.

The normally accessible Tuitt did not return my phone calls (or anybody elses) Sunday or Monday. However, IrishEyes.com did reach his mother Monday night. “He is still committed to Notre Dame,” she told the Scout site. “He would like to take a couple days to think about think about everything. He just needs some time before he’s ready to talk.”

This is the normal procedure for Stephon. He did the same thing when he visited Auburn...
