Amir is one of many visiting USC this weekend. All top talent from around the nation. Amir is also visiting on his own dime which is concerning especially on the day he is deciding.

call me crazy, but i think i would rather have him than huggins

I've always wanted him more than Huggins (even thought they will likely play different positions) and I thought we had him until all of a sudden getting hit with this news. Right now I consider us on the outside looking in until Kelly's visit.

Hopefully Kelly can convince him that visiting USC will be irrelevant when he sells him about the slot-position at ND. Which is where Amir thrived in AAA practice.

It's an unofficial that's been scheduled for some time now. Maybe it just has not been updated. I like our chances with BK getting a visit tomorrow. If he ends up at USC, his father played serious games with ISD. He hardly mentioned USC and was all about the Irish. Ive seen crazier things in recruiting though.

Also, the whole "wants to be an actor" thing I read in article scares the crap out of me. Obviously, he won't have time to pursue that while going to school, but you have to think that makes LA appealing if that's the kind of thing he is into. The USC boards had basically zero mention of him until today... it is crazy to me that we can want him so bad while he is an afterthought there to their bajillion 5* WRs and RBs and he may go there. Hell, it's entirely conceivable he would never see the field at USC as a tweener.

*deep breath*

I guess I'll just have to wait until Saturday.

This. I'll keep my faith though until I see the commitment.

The bad part about this is we might end up with out getting a running back and they could be trouble. We have no back that can put his head down and drive through someone. Huggins is gone and now maybe Amir ouch. Cam is going to be in the slot not a running back.

The acting thing is definitely a major wild card. To be honest though, I also think their depth chart at running back could play a role in this as well if the rumored unofficial is actually taking place. They have no RB currently committed in this class, took none in the '09 class, thus realistically Carlisle would only be competing with Dillon Baxter and D.J. Morgan for carries in the foreseeable future. Even if Baxter gets the bulk of the carries (which he undoubtably will if he stays out of trouble), that still leaves a huge chunk of early opportunities for Amir.

BK told Cam he will get an opportunity at RB.

I think he will be an awesome slot guy and screen back but i don't think he will be a good running back.

I have a completely different impression. First, there are 3 RBs (Tyler, Baxter and Morgan). Second, Baxter and Morgan being around his age means that if he goes to USC he could very realistically end up being a bench player his entire career or redshirting. Third, a tweener like him does not fit as well with the offense run at USC when compared to Kelly's spread (think Percy Harvin in the spread at Florida).

In no scenario, whether he plays RB or WR at Notre Dame, should the depth more appealing to him at USC.

Marc Tyler has one year left, Morgan is a complete unknown and Baxter, while extremely talented, has had trouble in the past. Not exactly the depth USC is used to, which was my point. You could add in Curtis McNeal, but he is too small to get a bulk of the carries. He did impress Kiffin though.

Were there no recruiting classes before this one? Last I checked we still have Jonas Gray and Cam Roberson that can run through someone. Amir was never going to be a guy to put his head down. I swear if someone didn't start this year its like they don't exist to a lot of people on this board, unless your last name is Nix. Please stop the madness!

Its about RB depth. We have Cierre Wood, Roberson, and Gray. Gray is a senior. That leaves 2 deep at a position that gets a lot of injuries. McDaniels is a project that could end up playing somewhere else.

DD posted on springboard that "Amir was in" when asked from a poster. This was after the AA game.

USC's DeAnthony Thomas is playing runningback for them. He played DB in the AAA game but USC is playing him at RB. He's a STUD.

As for Amir's visit, it was on ESPNU Recruiting Insider as an unofficial visit.

Per ISD, BK's visit with Amir was pushed back to Sunday, after his visit to USC.

Niiiiiiiiiiice!!!!! That means the decision will be Sunday or later too, right? I'm sure Amir will have a great time in LA with all of those guys... I just hope one night of fun doesn't make a 40 year choice for him because there will be a LOT of ND haters present lol

IMO, could mean one of two things. Either Amir told BK he wanted to visit USC this weekend and BK settled for Sunday; OR, BK requested that he do his in home on Sunday so that he could be in South Bend for Lynch on Friday and Saturday. I'm just glad BK will get his shot.

**** guys, Coach D just got off the phone with Carlisle's dad, and they did indeed cancel BK's visit. They did NOT however, reschedule his visit. Amir wants to visit USC Saturday, so they don't want BK heading out there for nothing. His dad said Amir wanted to make his decision without any type of pressure. Not looking good.

Here is my take:

If USC is the competition here, I feel good about our chances. They have 23 current verbals and they are on the board for quite a few more. They are already loaded at RB and DeAnthony Thomas is a stud coming in this year to play RB. If USC even gets a sniff of interest out of guys like Karlos Williams or others, I suspect they will take them before they take Amir. L.A is very appealing to 18 year old students, especially if they want to pursue acting. I really think we end up with Amir when it's all said and done. USC has a very dirty coaching staff that excell in drawing interest from everyone and everyone, but anybody with a good head on their shoulders will see through the b.s.

I sure hope you are right, its shocking to me that usc has 23 verbals.....why does the ncaa even give out penalties if the school can just turn around and find a loop hole?

We're ****ed.

Disclaimer: yes, I know we still have a shot, but what a crock of crap. This kid could be star in our offense and it sounds like he is getting swindled by the USC staff here... I wonder what the hell they promised him to keep him away from ND. Lane the Liar strikes again. I just don't understand how anyone believe him or his staff.

Does it suck yeah, but I have started to view things a little differently after the Lynch saga. I just promised myself not to get that up and down about recruiting. Do I think Amir could be a stud in the slot, yeah, do I think we will be ok without him, yeah. I can't see him fitting in as well to the USC system, but Cali has the women, weather and weed as Biggie said it best.
