Cuz i'm a looser and reading thru their boards again. One poster said graduating from ND doesn't open any doors for your future. Said we don't compare to the "public ivy" schools such as Stanford, Duke, or Michigan. MICHIGAN really? Thats a joke.

"All This Talk About Notre Dame Being So Much Better Than FSU is such BS. Unless you go to an Ivy or a “public Ivy” like Stanford or Duke or maybe Michigan, where you went to undergrad barely registers with employers. Being a Notre Dame grad doesn’t open up major doors in and of itself."

hahahahaha I graduated with a 3.0 and am making 6 figures in the worst economy of the past 75 years right now ONLY because of Notre Dame and the alumni base.

And Stanford and Duke are both private... am I misunderstanding the term public ivy?

Seriously, the Alumni and network connections at ND are insane......I am sure Duke, Stanford and MANY other schools are very good too but FSU is not in the same class......anyone who makes that statement is just ignorant...

Ignorant is the correct word, like someone posted earlier on that forum " why would you go to the golden dome when you came come to FSU and get golden dome".....gotta admit that one was actually pretty solid

It's gonna happen.

And Great Dayne owes someone 10,000 vBucks. I can't recall who... It wasn't me.

It's good to see Aaron back in the mix with where he belongs. Alice should be around soon.

Are you referring to recruiting or my wife?

A) Wonderful comment. Not willing to committ my undying love for you.

B) I am sick and fu@kin tired of people confusing recruits position or not understanding the difference between a 4-3 and a 3-4, per position.

We have four extremely good defensive end recruits in this class if Lynch committs, and none of them are Ishaq Williams, Anthony Rasaba, or Ben Councell.

A 4-3 is an even front defense, and a 3-4 is an odd front defense. It sounds stupid to make the point that simply, but that is what three quarters of the posters on this thread are missing.

One defensive end may not want to play on a 3-4 because he thinks that he will spend all of his time protecting his linebackers, out of the limelight, but once ND began running the 3-4 correctly, if you noticed, (especially against SC and Miami) Kapron-Moore and Johnson started really cleaning up.

Tony Springmann and Brad Carrico can play the position. Do not write them off as OL yet.

Good call. To further simplify, an "odd" defense has a noseguard over center, whether head up, or strong or weak shade. An "even" defense has no noseguard.

I got into a discussion about how to stop the option against Army with a poster on another site, and he recommended an even front. I'll be damned if the Irish didn't run an even front and stuffed Army.

I hope our young superstud realizes that Diaco is quite flexible in his approach to defensive alignments. He has done a lot of different things already with scheme, and will doubtless do more once the players have basics on cruise control. Aaron should have no worries about his ability to penetrate lines-of-scrimmage when it counts [on passing plays]. This is especially true with Stephon on the other side, bull-rushing the tackle back into the QBs face and requiring the RB to go there to block. Aaron should be around or between his lineman by then and clean the QB's clock. You can imagine how much moreso this will be with an excellent rush-linebacker crashing outside Aaron too. Fleming, Shembo, Ishaq?? Diaco knows this. He hasn't had the right set of guys yet.

Several outlets, including warchant.com, are reporting standout DE Aaron Lynch has decommitted from FSU after talking to #NotreDame coaches late last night. He is considering both schools. Deadline to be an early enrollee at FSU is Wed. They started classes last Tues.

You want to really screw up an option team? Throw a five man front at 'em!

Guys, I've probably deleted about 50 posts from this thread in the last 20 hrs alone. Members and non-members alike come to this thread for Lynch news, multiple times an hour even, so can we try to keep it to that? There's posts here on the Colts game, vbucks, personal stories that have nothing to do with Lynch or the wait, etc etc - and there are plenty of places on this site for that. Most of you guys have kept it on point, and thanks for that. (And some posts have been deleted b/c they quote previously deleted posts)

I've also had to delete some posts telling Lynch, well, I won't even repeat it...but let's keep the focus on this thread to Lynch and keep it respectable when the news does come out. Thanks...

Just trying to think what it would be like to be in Aaron's shoes right now. He has been recruited by every major college in the nation, commited to the greatest university in the world. Probably got tons of crap for it. We lose a couple of games and every swinging d1ck in Florida is telling him to go to "Free Shoe University" because ole Jimbo is the best thing since sliced bread, and he falls for it. Then, he plays in the Army bowl with Tuitt and they "beast" together. His, and his moms, heart is in South Bend, so he starts to think. If I commit to where I want to go instantly, I will get all this crap again. So, I think he waits until he is at the point of no return and commits. Just my opinion, I am stuck in this cyber world like the rest of you. Maybe its wishful thinking, but gotta do something

Guys from what I hear from several FSU alumni including, an ex player they don't expect or want Lynch back. Not sure how things were left but they say he's ours to loose. Take that for what it's worth, I just hope he decides with his heart, and our posters have more class than what I've seen from the FSU folks.

Aww C'mon NDin L.A. you had 200+ guys sitting on Irish Envy on a Saturday night some of us for hours. Cut us some slack on the banter, as we where waiting for news that wasn't coming very quick anyway. I agree anyone saying anything derogatory should def be removed, but I didn't see much of that. For what it's worth, we were sitting around waiting to see if a 17 year old kid will commit to ND. It's really not that serious. Just my 2cents.

those words were spoken on this site and many others too, by the same type of people. i believe its just to make themselves feel better, i guarantee if he said he wanted to stay they would snatch him up in a heartbeat just like we're doing.
