OMG im getting way too excited....
I think this meeting tonight is a good sign for us.I'm going to try and keep my excitement level down,but I think we're getting Lynch back.I think he finally realizes what he turned down, and wants it back.

Not to get your hopes up he's meeting with both staffs so it's 50/50

Considering this is backing away from making an actual visit to ND.

Considering he did the tomahawk chop in intro's after talking to some people connected with FSU last night that supposedly smoothed things over.

Considering this means less time for Aaron's Mom to talk through the issues.

I do not think this is a good sign, but at least we won't have to wait almost a week to find out the answer.

It's apparent someone has really planted this 4-3 vs 3-4 in him. Yea there are differences but if you can play, you can play. The pros can tell the players. ie Justin Tuck....

Didn't we play a lot of 4 down lineman in those last few games?

I realize that...but Lynch has already taken an official visit to ND and a couple unofficial if im not mistaken.He doesnt need to see the campus again.He put his grandfather's ashes there,so im pretty sure he loves the place enough.
I think the last week has really opened his eyes.I think he sees he can come in right away and play with Tuitt and start something special.Maybe today was the clincher.We all saw how great they played together.
This is all just speculation on my part,I have no facts. I just honestly think he is Irish.
Hope I'm not eating my words later.

If he is dead set against playing in a 3-4, and can't see how Diaco will use him in our 3-4 system then this was over before it started.

Diaco uses a hybrid 3-4. Often with an OLB with his hand on the ground, but the DE's are not true pass rushers like in a typical 4-3. It is something different entirely to be honest but it is still not a 4-3

I'm told there are 5-6 #notredame coaches at Lynch's hotel. 4 #FSU coaches there as well.

The thing that seems to be keeping ND in this is that Florida ST already has two other 4 star DE committed in Carradine and Newberry. Plus they are still recruiting Clowney, Drew, Rasco and Chickillo. Lynch feels he was lied to about how many DE's they are targeting

Yeaaaaaaaa...something tells me all 10 coaches, aaron, and alice lynch aren't going to be having continental breakfast tomorrow with each other.

I've never heard of this many coaches in a place with a recruit at one time, if true. That's crazy attention for a 17 year old kid.

Something tells me he's stuck on the 4-3, but something else tells me he can't say no to Alford face to face

They are not all there for Lynch. They will also visit Ishaq and talk to Tuitt, Atkisnon, Hegarty and any other target there

When I first heard he was meeting with the FSU coaches first, and that he didn't wanna be bull****ted, it made me think he was going to go there if he was simply reassured of things by them, and would tell Alford face to face this time after. But if we truly have that many coaches there, it seems like we truly won't go down without a fight. Love the fight from our staff, and agree with IinF that I'm very glad it will end tonight.

Side note: I'm glad Alford is already bald, because after all this with Lynch he would be straight gray. Guy needs a pay raise. Now.

i don't think this is positive. i'm glad it's going to be over by tonight, but i think the signs leading up to this are good. it's nice that we will have one last shot to sway his decision irish but i take this meeting tonight as a way of canceling his OV scheduled for this week. it is highly unlikely that he would've changed his decision from definitely FSU to definitely ND this quickly.

Yes. Lynch said he decommited via text because Alford was like a father figure to him and didn't have the "you know what" to call him and tell him or do it face to face.
