Beyer's been to Michigan several times including their Jr Day. He should be at ND's as well.

Had a great visit, and it's basically down to us and Michigan, and a decision could come within a couple of weeks after he thinks about it more and talks it over with his family...

ND was always number 2 with him, but came on very strong. His father told Steve Wiltfong some very nice things about ND and the coaching staff tonight.

Who do you think Breyer's coach will be...Les Miles or Jim Harbaugh?

As a defensive end or as an outside linebacker?

Pretty light for a 3-4 defensive end, depends on how much weight he can carry I guess

Updated Rankings....I still think he remains at Michigan. Maybe his current teammate can change his mind.

Is there any actual word he's considering ND after Michigan fired Richrod?

As a Notre Dame fan, and an Ohio State student, and am greatly saddened that they fired him. :)

No word. Just got fired around 2 PM Eastern. ND was sitting in the 2-spot during this recruitment. He was always going to go to Michigan, but with this development, who knows

ND is stacked with DE's...I'd rather get Ishaq Williams.

There is no way you pass on a 4* DE. Especially if you can pull him from Michigan. Are you saying we shouldn't recruit Brennan Scarlett or Troy Niklas anymore? Defensive line has been a weakness of this team for years.

Guys who fit the DE mold are nice to have in bunches, because if they're faster they can play OLB or ILB and if they're bigger than can play DT or OG since they have quick feet. Speaking as generally as possible, a DE often has a perfect football body for utilization in numerous positions.

I agree 100%, with the next man in approach, I wouldn't mind doing Line Changes on D line ala Hockey eh

It's going to have to be something close to that because when BK gets his offense clicking the way he wants it, the defense will be on the field a lot. We need fresh legs WITH TALENT. We need all the elite 4-5* talent we can take on defense.

Part of an old article from back in April when he committed:

From the beginning, though, U-M was going to be tough to beat for Beyer’s services. He called them his “dream school” and said he has a blue comforter with a big maize “M” on his bed and a room painted maize and blue.

Although the offer from Michigan was the one he wanted most, Beyer took his time to ensure it was the best fit for him academically, athletically and socially. While growing up a Wolverines fan did not hurt, in the end, his relationship with Rodriguez and defensive coordinator Greg Robinson was the biggest factor in decision.

Obviously a huge Michigan fan, but if the relationship with Rodriguez and Greg Robinson was truly the biggest factor in the decision, we may have a chance.

Yes I would say pass on this kid with ND recruiting Ishaq heavily and with Scarlettt and Niklas in the mix. I like the guys who are there now, who are in the waiting, and the kids we are recruiting. Irish Man3 I see our defense being a lot better next year, I don't care if you are a 4 or 5 star...that means nothing.

We are not stacked with DE's. The lack of depth along the D line is the number one reason for our defensive woes for the past 10-15 years. BK should jump on this guy

Only problem is IShaq is a OLB in our system and we trail for Niklas if I remember correctly. Add in the fact we lose most of our DL in the next two seasons and DE becomes a huge issue. Plus I think next cycle we will be concentrating more at NT then DE so you take all comers at DE at this point. Adding a 4* DE would allow us to move either Springmann or Carrico over to the OL to finish off recruiting there for this cycle as well. Stocking the cupboards now is a good thing, gives us more margin for error in future classes.
